No idea where to put this but watching the Liverpool v Norwich game and Todd Cantwell looks a player!

One to keep an eye on this season I think. He's shown great feet, awareness and no fear.

You can go to the premier league 2019/20 thread on the general chat forum

Ah, Villa. They were always arrogant fucks I remember
As if by magic, we have a Villa fan who doesn’t realise just how hard their season is going to be.
5 minutes reading the match thread on the fighting cock and I can already remember part of why I hated the premiership and didn't mind the championship.

The arrogance of some of their fans is crazy. especially for a team who aren't even on the level of Man City or Liverpool in recent years.

A couple of them have acknowledge our good preseason including our win over RB but from 97% of the comments you would think this was a cup game against Plymouth.
Erm no it’s match day one between the Champions League finalists at their new home stadium and the team that won the third placed playoff in the Championship

I know essentially 4th in the prem vs 5th in the championship at our house. Who have they bought that they believe they can get a result.

I’m all for Villa fans thinking they can get a result, football without optimism is pointless, but to be so deluded that we are anything bystander enormous favourites is basically just as I remember them.

I always remember how Stan Cockwomble used to be bitter about how far beyond them we’d reached by having far greater resources, totally ignoring the fact that they’d spent far more under O’Neil assembling their squad than we had, we just spent our money on Bale, Modric and Lennon instead of Reo Coker, Downing and Milner.

I think it's fair to say we've most definitely been on the level of Liverpool in recent years, I guess he hasn't been following the premier League though.

‘McGinn. That’s all there is to it’

She has spoken.

A few hibs fans up here keep raving how good he is..... I asked how good will he be when Sissoko goes through him in the first 10 minutes ?

Some Villa Talk stuff. Nothing salty mind. Chose a few select ones, but most are accepting and complimentary

To be honest, as hard as the back 5 worked, I think it'd have been robbery if we got a point there.
They battered us, and we have their abysmal finishing to thank for the score being as flattering as it was. Kane should have had 4. They could have very easily been one up in the first 20 seconds. Plus that hilarious shot 1 on 1 outside the 6 yard box that went out for a throw...
Very disappointed with Jack, he needs to learn from that, and fast. He's lucky he only cost us one goal, he almost cost us in the first half losing the ball deep in our first half by dicking about like he's playing against Rotherham instead of CL finalists.

We got away with a lot of sloppiness, and it's clear they're on another level to us. Fortunately, most teams aren't as good as Spurs.

---

How embarrassingly shit are the spurs fans though. Either their support is **** disgraceful and beyond dog shit or that stadium has the worst sound engineering in the world. Heard them three times in 90 minutes.

---

Tottenham are just multiple classes above us and anyone expecting anything else was unrealistic.
We fought well and the players will have learned a lot. Was a bit disapointed that we were sooo poor in possession, but really pleased with Engels and especially Mings today. We are back in the premier league, fans need to accept and expect to meet oppositions that are a lot stronger than us.
Tottenham are just behind City and Liverpool in quality and look at how those two teams destroyed their oppostions this week.

Bring on next week!!
