has son been questioned on here for not being good?
He is a great player, but his form this season has been patchy to say the least.

As long as he keeps scoring I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah I was thinking the same, they all watched that game and raved about him whereas we all think he was poor and even his goal was only because of a gk error.

I know he has brilliant movement but an in form son has 3 goals 2 assist in that game.

questioned his form perhaps, i cant believe anyone on this forum questioned the actual player's ability or standing

You obviously don't frequent match threads, Kaz.

He's slagged off all the time by certain members, only for him to then go and score, and ram their dissenting words straight back down their ungrateful throats.

Do you genuinely think he had a good game? He constantly made bad decisions, lost the ball, missed a 1 on 1, messed up a 2 on 1 when sess is clean through if he passes, messed up a goal from 6 yards, and If Lloris failed to save his goal we would all be going crazy as it was a pretty poor shot.
If he does all that Saturday and we lose to United 2-1 will you say he had a good game?
I love son but he has missed a hell of a lot of chances recently, including multiple in the middlesborough game.

I agree with you. When we went 3-0 up I said to my son that Kulu, Sess and Sonny had all had pretty so-so games but somehow they had two assists and a goal between them. Of course Sess got an injury but I think the whole team improved as Everton imploded including Son and Kulu.

I hate hate hate that Spurs strip

It's actually hilarious for a Newcastle fan to criticise our kit when every one of their shirts looks like it has a four on the front!

He had a great game. Not everything he tried came off, it almost never does, but there were moments of pure brilliance. The movement for his goal, the movement when Kulu slips him in and he blasts it across the box, the passage of play down the line when the ball is certain to go out of play but he somehow hooks it back in and then runs 40 yards to keep the game going.

His one touch short passing when we're trying to beat the press and he drops deep are so underrated as well. He makes it easy for Bentancur and Kane to spread the ball because he makes the right decision in those tight areas with a perfectly weighted short pass, continuously bringing others into play.

The drop off between Son and whoever comes in (Bergwijn or Lucas) is remarkable. Son, Kulu and Kane were all fantastic against Everton.

Son has pretty much always been a player who plays in streaks. When he is going through a quiet patch he can look fairly terrible but he usually returns to form within a few matches and looks great again. Obviously for fans watching us week in week out his dips are more noticeable than they are for opposition fans who only see the highlight reels.

Yes but the difference is these days he keeps scoring during his bad periods

Wasn't his best game by any stretch but he certainly wasn't poor.

I honestly think a lot of posters just compare a lot of our players to their favourite players in the same position and critique them accordingly, and completely ignoring other aspects of their games they actually do better.

Foxes Talk
  • So torn on what result I wanna see tonight. Pity both sets of fans
  • Maybe a draw with loads of red cards and injuries to both teams
  • I’ve always loathed spurs but Conte is kind of cool
  • Oh bore off Spurs
  • Kulusevski has fit in very well.
  • Kane is so clever
  • Is Spurs pitch larger than most? Looks absolutely massive
  • This is tragic
  • Kane would really suit Manchester City's style.
  • just turned on the footy......wow
  • Spurs will give up after about 4 or 5
  • Ffs - is this real ?
  • they're messing about now!
  • Kulusevski's had a quiet start to Premier League life eh?
Leicester fans are seriously weird. So not only do they have a laughable obsession with us, they also hate Everton???
Basically on the grand map of premier league rivalries they are invisible, no one cares about Leicester, it's some kind of cry for recognition, hello, look at us, we exist. are we not also football fans, can we join the party.

Sonny has been great for us for years. Don't forget he has had COVID and we cannot know if he is fully fit, and certainly not fully match fit.

i know he has, and he's my favourite player. but not being fully fit shouldnt impact his decision making, but hes been bad the last 3 games especially thats all im saying.

  • Is Dele really that shit that Spurs didn't even enter a clause that prevents him from playing against them?
Because that has happened a grand total of 0 times ever in football history? Sell a player and dictate who he plays against...

  • I still think Kane is going to be a one season wonder
Props to this guy.
