Those players sold, Berbatov, Carrick, Keane , Modric, Bale all went to to bigger clubs for BIG money.

I understand that players don't want to move, but if the money was right for all parties concerned they will.

Nasri, Suarez, Sterling are just three examples of that happening and no amount of badge kissing prevented that at very successful and bigger clubs than Spurs.
Agree.. There are very few footballers who play for their boyhood club, so the so called loyalty and living the so called dream is very patchy to say the least. Top quality footballers will play for the best teams who will pay them the top money.. Unfortunately Tottenham at current juncture do not sit in that category, so until we do, we will always be vulnerable to losing our top class talent, but so are all the other clubs who are similar to us.

From Redcafe

@@GlastonSpur , Arsenal Mania knows you

Interestingly, a Spurs fan on Redcafe claims he's going to be better than Pogba.
(about Dele Alli)

Is that Glastonspur? That guy would have been laughed out of A-M years ago

That's right, the Premier League doesn't exist until Spurs get their new stadium.

Ahh, GlastonSpur the butt of jokes there

If some team comes along with a forty, fifty, ot sixty million offer for any Spurs player ( or say 80-90 million for Kane) Levy will sell.

Love your sentiments but Levy is first and foremost a businessman. Berbatov, Carrick, Keane, Modric, and Bale are a testiment to that fact.

The point is Gaz the probability of us selling our best players to United is significantly less than it use to be. Those United fans clearly don't recognize or acknowledge that. I'm not saying it could never happen, or will never happen again, but the landscape has changed which means they'd be better off doing their shopping elsewhere - it wouldn't make economic sense in all likelihood because our terms would be madness.

With 4 years on his contract, they would need Kane to strike, too. That said, north of £100 million and with them having paid off Harry's agent as they allegedly tried to do with Bale's in the summer, it could happen.

Even so, they will need to finish above us, and have no competition from City or Madrid. The pressure on Levy not to do this is far greater than on any preceding transfer; he could sell Alli, Eriksen or Lloris without a murmur by contrast.

Spurs are a poor team, and we should be easing past them in our quest for the top 4.

I'll go Watford 3-1 Spurs: Ighalo (2), Abdi and a Deeney og for them.
You've got to them!

http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/for...0.16406/page-4

Ofcourse they aren't poor really and are building a very useful young side but you do wonder who'd get their goals if Kane was injured (like us with Deeney and Ighalo)

I haven't heard many of their fans on 606 etc so they must be having a decent season!
Good christ they are utterly moronic and boring if they can't grasp the punch-you-in-the-face obvious sarcasm. Laughable, idiots.
They do seem, well a little bit simple don't they?
The latest fool on there reckons we are the new Pulis Stoke long ball physical rugbyteam!!!!!
In the past 50 years, we've actually come closer to winning the league than they have.
I hope that's not what spending many years in the Prem does to you...
They're being all mean now because they're too stupid to recognise sarcasm
sad1.gif
Leave them be, they have spent years in Arsenal's shadow now they are in ours.
They're an absolutely poor excuse of a club that lingers on to the faded memory of a fact that Arsenal were originally from the dirty south of the river. It physically hurts them year after year at the fact that the "Woolwich Wanderers" as they call them still finish above them with relatively little effort spent.

After watching their matches on MotD this year, they seem to be chancing their luck this season and I just get the unshakable feeling that their league position is a false one, and that they'll have their inevitable tumble down the league soon. I genuinely think we'll be the ones to start this tumble tomorrow. 2-1 to us.

Now where's my login for that forum from when I tried to sell them old Spurs match day programmes (yes Spurs fans if you're reading this, I've got a login to your forum and I'll be visiting soon)....

Spoilered for intense humour:

I always call White Hart Lane "White Fart Lane" because it's funny

I cant ever see Kane striking. Obviously we can't say it will never happen, but its very unlikely we'll sell him to United - that's the point I'm making. Those United fans talk like its inevitable, which it simply isn't it.

Haha this is an entertaining read. They actually seem to have a good sense of humour over there.

http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?56930-Watford-vs-Tottenham-Hotspur-28th-December-2015

Spuds, spuds, spuds. What can you say about the Lillettes, eh? I don't particularly have anything against them. Not like Arsenhole. They're not objectionable like them.

Celebrity fans include uttercock Richard Littlejohn, unfunny ubercock Paul Merton, complete sh:t of a Tory man with a head shaped like acock Iain Duncan Smith, tone deaf and tin-eared cockneycocks Chas and Dave and that bloke with the curly hair and specs off the sitcom 2.4 children.

I remember going there in the 80s when we used to whup 'em on a regular basis and seeing all those rows of mirrored glass executive boxes running along the top of the stand opposite and thinking "I'm glad I don't follow a soulless corporatecock of a club like this...."

Another memory of their arrogance is when we played them in some cup or other and Germancock Klinsman scored at the Vic end.

There were two Spudcocks together, who'd obviously sneaked their devious way into the Vic end in front of me behind the goal and had the arrogance to stand up and cheer. I felt obliged to chastise them. Absolutely no respect at all. I've stood in the opposing end at various games for various reasons, but at least I had the politeness to keep quiet. But not these. They felt quite free to celebrate loudly and freely in the Watford end.

A cop gave me a ticking off, but took them away, with the thick ears they thoroughly deserved, to go amongst their fellowcocks where they belong. I think you can see this happening on the TV replays.

I've really got no time or sympathy for them.

Another comfortable 3-0 home win. Iggy, Watson and Capoue (of course). Gomes to save a pen.

:D

Lots of comments like this one on that Watford board:

they'll be really up for this one & will be looking to gain another scalp... but we really should be beating the likes of these

The fuck. Weren't this team in the championship last season :ROFLMAO: Honestly, even Arsenal, City, United and Liverpool fans would at least further acknowledge the challenge we'd bring with the way we've been playing this season.

Starting to hope this team drops down the table like a sack of shit

Manu fans:

On Kane:

Spend whatever it takes to get Kane in the summer. Start tapping him up now (all top teams do this so don't take the moral high ground) so we have less work to do then.

Kane was MOTM today with a great finish for his goal.
47 goals in 100 appearances at 22.
He's going to be a star. No question.

Another brace for Kane today.
I am of the opinion that we should throw the full financial force of the club at making that deal happen.

I've been a skeptic re Kane, but he's scoring again this season. If the choice is Vardy or Kane, its no choice at all IMO.

If there is a bidding war for Kane do people think he'll leave? I'm adamant that he would tbh despite what Tottenham fans are telling themselves.

Been saying Kane since Chelsea at home last season, he looks he part and we all know it.
Shame we're not in a position to unsettle him. He's likely to finish ahead of us this season.

Only Kane will last. Kane would be a terrific buy. I don't see Vardy being worthy beyond this season. He doesn't have the appropriate psychological profile to stay up for a long time. He's a Fury, not a Klitschko if i may.

The game is always in a state of flux, clubs rise and fall. Sure Spurs haven't won the league in 50 years, but neither had Manchester City. It was the same with Chelsea
Spurs have all the ingredients to be bigger than both of these clubs, the new 61,000 seat stadium will move them to the top tier of the game.
We shouldn't be complacent and think the current "CL Clubs" are fixed in stone. They aren't, in fact the only constant is change. Kane may well decide to stay.

We should be all over Kane like a rash.
I'm quite confident we will be in for him in the summer and will get our man, albeit at a very high price

Tonight was the sort of game Kane would get a goal out of nothing from. Get him in the summer, him and Martial would be fantastic.

Kane is the ideal partner for Martial.

I wouldn't be surprised if United offered him at the absolutely bare minimum £150k/pw. His own sponsorship deals would skyrocket similar.
I think it will happen. Possibly for a new record fee.

I wouldn't be surprised if United offered him at the absolutely bare minimum £150k/pw. His own sponsorship deals would skyrocket similar.
I think it will happen. Possibly for a new record fee.

and the harry "one-season wonder" kane train keeps rolling

Take him and Poch to Old Trafford, we will rock again, its combination of Van Gaal and Rooney which made us look so bad. I think Ali would go as well after a while, how would the manager cost these days though?

This.
I think it would be hard to get Spurs to accept even a world record fee but we have to do everything in our power to turn his head.
He's THE Galactico (to be) we should have been chasing all this time.

watching him run for 9O mins make me thing how much time off would rooney need to recover from a physical contribution like this, let alone scoring goals while at it..

I can see Madrid come knocking end of the season. He has that star quality they like.

Bit of a broken record in saying this but even when he wasn't scoring goals earlier in the season he looked lively and dangerous. Not surprised that he's still banging them in and looking like a top striker. FF captain for me as well today

The real deal. Should definitely go all out for him next season. Having said that, if Spurs manage to get top four then there's no chance.

Think he'll be off to Madrid. The disgraced Benzema will probably be on his way out, and they'll need a striker

He has an excellent striking technique, generates a lot of power and keeps the ball low. I wonder which club he will eventually go to.

I am officially convinced this lad is a top player and we should try to sign him even though it'll be insanely difficult because Levy.
We have no top British wingers/strikers and thats just unacceptable.

Clearly will take new world record fee. Maybe even the first £100m player.

People chortled on here when I said that we should buy Kane in the summer, otherwise he would end up costing double the £40-50m that was being talked about then. No, they said, he will still cost the same amount. Looks like others are coming round to my way of thinking (as usual).

No one is going to pay 100M for Harry Kane.

If he carries on his current trajectory, they absolutely will.
It is absolutely imperative we get him. We have to.

I think he will leave within two years to one of the big boys - us, City or Real if I had to guess.
And it will be for a world record fee. They will laugh at £50m. He is the future of English football - and the entire league is flush with cash now.

He will move to a CL club.

So he won`t come to us is what you are saying?

:D

On Alli:

you can laugh but he looks much better than Pogba at his age, rocking in the fecking premier league

In this guy, Stones, Sterling, Shaw and Kane, England have the best crop of young players coming through for a long time.
United need to get there hands on more than just 1 of them.

It'll be interesting to see how he develops, he's a big, strong athlete which is perfect for the PL and right now he's playing as a #10 pretty effectively for Spurs, although I imagine the plan is to develop him into a deeper role.

Proof that theres nothing wrong with looking at lower leagues for talent.

Yeah, looks a top player, started following him a bit after he ripped us apart in the MK Dons Cup game, he was ridiculous that day. Saying that very surprised he's got a first team place so quickly and looked this good.
For a 19 year old to come from League One into the Premier League and settle like this is insane.

Class act. Has goals in his locker too.

fully agree. Watched Spurs a few times this season, and he's been very impressive every time.

If Kane is supposedly worth 100 million, what's this guy value?

He's fecking class, he keeps this up for another season or 2 and he's going to be highly saught after.

Poch is doing a better job managing England than Roy.

Definitely one we should keep an eye on when we revamp the midfield in the summer.

Pogba looked very raw and immature at the same age, Im comparing whats comparable, and also for that reason he played only couple of minutes for us, Ali looks like the brightest talent in the premier league and already game changer for Tottenham, it might sound as an overstatement but at the same time its only because how eventually Pogba dvelopped in a as poor league as Seria A, time will tell if Alli can match performances what pogba's capable of but right now he's easily better of the two at the same age..

We should have bought him the moment he starred in the 4-0 victory over us when he played for Dons.

Why we didn't go for him after the 4-0 vs MK Dons will forever remain a mystery.

I have to be honest, i'm usually very skeptical in relation to english players and the constant overhyping but this fella has really impressed me every time i´ve watched him.

He's excellent, really is. He just radiates this feeling that he is definitely going to be class. Bit like Shaw [pre-injury].

On Poch:

1. Kane
2. Alli
3. Dier
4. Eriksen
- He did great things with raw material
- Solid control of the looker room

If he can get Spurs 4th this season I think we should seriously consider him among the replacements for LVG. If he achieves that, he will have shown a great deal in a very short time in management. Eventually there will be managers who will step up into the "elite" of common names everyone keeps mentioning, and this guy could be one such name.
Also seems to bring a calm with him, and his teams show that. Both Spurs and Southampton seem to be very professional sides that have an ease in the way they play.

Yep. Totally agreed. He's brilliant.

I do like the way he goes about his job though. No fuss and gives loads of younger players a chance. Likeable chap by all accounts as well.

TBF to him he has been very good at Southampton and now Spurs. Lets see what he does this season, but they are not only solid (as were Southampton) but also played good football

Would be an excellent choice as our next manager. Brilliant tactician, puts faith in young players and helpfully is a native Spanish speaker so will have no problems communication with the dressing room at OT
Only concern is that since everybody on here wants to replicate the hugely successful all out entertainment mantra of Kevin Keegan/Arsene Wenger etc....it wouldn't be long before people started grumbling because I can guarantee as a former defender himself, and from what I have seen at Spurs, his first priority would always be to make us tough to beat

I'm actually one of the few that thinks LVG is doing an alright job, but the football Pochettino has Spurs playing is leagues apart from the safety-first, turgid shite we've been forced to watch for the last season and a half.
He looks like the real deal to me. I wouldn't have any complaints whatsoever if we got him at the end of next season.

Spurs have become really good to watch IMO. At least relative to the players they've got in attack. They hardly have an Henry, Pires, Sanchez etc in attack to get you off your seats, but they play with intensity, control and a fair deal of class. Southampton were really good to watch too. Pocchetino has that part sorted so far as far as I'm concerned. You don't have to play counter attack to be entertaining. That is something I can't agree with.

I've found Tottenham good to watch thus far this season.

All things considered, I would have him here at United, even ahead of Pep, which might shock a lot of people.

Would be great to give a manager of his ilk a shot at old Trafford. He'll get a big job veer soon IMO.

Looks like he will make spurs a team to watch out for. He has them playing with some swag and confidence so far.

I still wished United had choose him over Van gaal. He has Tottenham in the top four and is doing it the right way.

Love him and the way his teams go about their business but United would have been too big too soon for him.

Yea perhaps. Tottenham was perhaps an ideal managerial position for him. The gap between Southampton and Tottenham is not as huge as the gap between Manchester United and Southampton. Perhaps, if he continues to impress, he may take over lvg and bring Kane with him

I am a big fan of his and I would love him here at United. This season seems like a great chance to have Tottenham break into the top four.

He just does management the right way. Gives local talent a chance and builds from the foundation up. tactically astute and without drama.

He should stay at Spurs until he feels he's taken them as far as he can rather than as soon as a big club comes calling. He's building a very competitive team in the right way.

He really is a good manager. He has built a hard-working very young Spurs side. I said they'd be my pick for top 4 and I think they'll do it.

Second option to Guardiola.

I'm a big fan of what he's done at Spurs. Haven't spent too much money, get rid of the dross and have built a very young squad with quality.

Best manager of the league.

Has to be one of many in the frame for our next manager.

I admire his work and actually thought that he's the manager that we should have gone after sacking Moyes. That's while he's still at Southampton.

He's done a fine job at Spurs and they've got a damn good chance of finishing too four.

Could be an option to consider post LVG. His system is quite similar too and he's great with young players which suits United. We should try and get a top manager like Pep or Ancelotti of course, but if Pochettino carries on in this vein he could another option to consider.

I bet when he took over most people would have said that he needs money to spend to get this team playing quality football and cohesive football. He's done it with barely spending anything. He's just got hold of what he's got and made it a lot better. Excellent management so far. Hope they get 4th ahead of Liverpool. Would also be fun to see Klopp get shown up by someone with zero hype.

He seems to give youth plenty of opportunity and that is a good sign/potential as our next manager.

Him or Tuchel for me if Guardiola doesn't happen. Klopp is sadly never going to happen now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, they want Kane, Poch, maybe Alli... What else? Oh, that academy guy, McDermott, of course you can have him! Levy is always happy to do business with manu! Something else? Perhaps Lloris and Lamela on loan with option to buy? Nah, fcuk this, you can have our new stadium also so you can play your London games nicely.

Well, in the end, fcuk them and fcuk manu.... I'm off to cigarette...

It would be much easier for them to just start supporting Spurs and they wouldn't have to travel as far to see the games either.

Struggling to understand the negs you're getting on this. Just common sense

And everyone saying 'bale wanted out' - yeah he was kissing the badge and saying he didn't till very near to leaving. Like so many of them do.

What players say in public is bunkum, it's proven time and again, I wish people would stop taking it seriously, it's just personal and branded PR

If we get top 4, all is fine. If we don't, see you in the summer for shits and giggles. We've all been here before. But this time it'll be different right? When we need money to pay for a stadium as well?

Spurs fans are so predictable. This place was on suicide watch about 10 games ago. Now none of our players will ever leave?
