What the pundits & media are saying about us

Well, it's a step in the right direction, I think it was all getting a bit tired. Some new faces can't hurt although given that it's being done to cut costs any new faces will probably have to come from their current pool of pundits. I think the format probably needs a revamp as well while they are at it.

Plus, a change of personalities will give us ooooh, twenty minutes break from the constant whining about them before the new guys need to don bulletproof vests.

I have heard Sky are digging through the Liverpool reserve team from 1993 to see who they can replace them with.

Brilliant news! Much needed this although shame it didn't include Merson and Jeff in the cull.

However I'll caveat this by saying please don't replace with Glen fucking Johnson who is a bonafide moron!

Jeff Stelling is ok in my book, so was Le-Tissier to be fair. Very happy with Charlie Nicholas being yeeted out of there though.

Don't get too happy yet lads - for all we know Charlie could be replaced with Sol Campbell.

Just think they are a good few years out of date, same format for decades and anyone under 40 probably wouldn't have seen them as players.
I imagine it'll be a whole different format.

To be fair to Merson, whilst his prediction and insight are hilariously bad, he does provide a source of entertainment and opening up about his mental health makes him relatable. Despite his bias against us, thats never stopped him from praising us when we've been good. It's just his inability to review intelligently that is his problem, K don't think its malice.

Nicholas and Thompson however, are incredibly biased. Thompson being your typical Scouse prat who behaves like a cheerleader and reacts pathetically when Liverpool are ever criticised and year after year predicted they'd be back on top despite it not looking like that at all. There's also this

Nicholas, offered absolutely nothing, no humour, no insight, not even a likeable character, just came across as a bitter human being. His comments on us, always through gritted teeth. Fine, you don't like us, but you can't offer a fair assessment (and shouldn't be asked) if you can't approach it objectively.
Compare it to Ian Wright, he'll laugh at us, he'll get annoyed when we win but he'll always say 'fair play' and be light about it.

Long over due that they both went.

We're not in any of the BBC top4 predictions. Just the way I like it quite frankly.

And really why would we be, we are 50-1 6th favourites, and you can get 7-2 about us finishing in the Top 4 (about a 22% chance)
It is why I laugh when I see most peoples realistic expectations are Top 4 and a Cup. Basically that is at best a 1 in 30 chance of happening, that is not realism.

Realistically 5th or 6th in League and no cup win, but going reasonably deep in them (draw withstanding) should be our expectations, anything better is wishful hoping

The odds don’t indicate where we are as a squad though, they indicate where punters are putting their money. I don’t think it’s unrealistic with the players we have and more importantly the manager we have to suggest we can finish in the top4. Last year we were beset with a ridiculous amount of injuries.

I can’t disagree enough with the idea that higher than 5th is wishful hoping.

Well the average man in the street based on what they are betting on, and every single bookmaker in the land thinks they have a better chance of being near the Top 4 than we do.

Good for them. I don’t think they will be and I think we will finish above them too.
