Why can't we beat the old guard away in the league?

Because since the inception of the Premiership we have been at best medicore with the exception of a couple of decent seasons. While the old guard have been consistenly excellent, again with the exception of a couple of seasons here and there.

There is really no point digging up past glory as what matters is the match on the day, and today manu had winners in their team

So today we have no winners in our team but when we win we do? Not sure I get your way of thinking?

Man U are the only team in the top leagues that hasn't lost a single game in all compets since April when they lost from Chelsea with a goal from offside. Much is spoken about their decline but they aren't bad at all.

That said, Spurs lacked luck jesterday. Had VDV scored with that shot in the first minutes, the game could have been very different. Luck is very important in football. I think that Spurs will win against Chelsea and/or Arsenal at their grounds. My gut feeling is that Spurs will win at SB.

You are dying for someone to bite at your posts so here I go.
Lack winners? Getting a 4th place finish last season? Beating the Goons and Chelshit within a week? Beating the Mickeys on the opening day? Beating Man City on the last day of the season? If you think we should be winning every single game I would suggest you go and support Man U or Chelski. We do not have the clout in the transfer market to match them yet (except Pool). So how was that? Good enough bite?

I beg to differ there. We don't have the clout to match Chelsea in recent years and United since as long as I can remember, but we have spent as much as Arse and Lpool in the last 10 years....

Tottenham's United curse
Jan 2005: Mark Clattenburg failed to give a goal when Pedro Mendes’s speculative 45-yard shot was fumbled two feet over the line by Roy Carroll with the score tied at 0-0.
Aug 2007: United got away with a foul by Nemanja Vidic on Dimitar Berbatov and a handball in the area by Wes Brown and duly ran out 1-0 winners.
2008 Ronaldo trips over blade of grass and penalty awarded. ManU win

April 2009: United were two goals down when Howard Webb awarded a penalty for Heurelho Gomes’s clean challenge on Michael Carrick. Cristiano Ronaldo converted and United ran out 5-2 winners.

In two seperate matches Cristiano Ronaldo kicks a Spurs play (one was Ledders, wide on the right by the penalty area), for making a fair challenge...the ref clearly sees it but 'has a quite word'

Almost every game, Paul Scholes commits 5 or 6 yellow card offences but receives zero yellow cards - until finally a ref aacted at WHL last season and sent him off. He jostled Clatty yesterday for not giving the pen. Ferdinand stood shouting at the ref and lino all of the time they were consultulting.

There are more:evil: It's not just the major decisions it is a whole string of minor ones as well.

I think we have to be reminded that it's not just us suffering appalling referees at Man Ure's sty, it happens to most teams playing there and it won't stop until that 'James Hunt' scumbag Fergie is six feet under!!

Does it actually matter that we haven't beaten them? It's four games out of a very long season, and sure it's a pain in the arse when we lose to Arsenal and Chelsea as they are our rivals, but as long as it doesn't actually affect our league position (last season being a good example) then aren't we just making a mountain out of a molehill?

Sure, the big 4 get the benefit of the doubt 99 times out of a hundred, especially Yanited but sweet, succulent baby jesus. Almost 70 games without a single win. Different players, different managers. Even a new stadium thrown in and fuck all.

Sort it out guys. Stop filling your trousers yr after yr. Pussies.

Well yes, valid point. We could actually lose all 8 games against the "sky 4" and still win the premier league most yrs by winning the other 30 but ya know, just one win away to these batards would be nice. For our self-esteem if nothing else.
