No odds yet but haxman's put up a will pav start v bolton in the vbookie thread for those who are interested!

I'm gonna hold out until I know he isn't injured again, you see thats the problem when you don't play, you pick up inuries easier when you do eventually get a chance, if he's in the squad when its announced the night before then I will bet then. I think thats fair.

If you read this thread, you think half the people really wanted Spurs to lose so they can moan about it.

Thought it was a very good performance today. We earnt the right to play.
Our away fans were immense - always singing and possibly saved Pav's career by singing SuperPav. I expected him to be low on confidence and maybe disinterested but he played for the fans today. Imagine if we could big up other players at WHL who were low on confidence rather than just slag them off/moan.

Delighted to be in 4th again. We got a bit of luck we'd been missing for a while.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp:
"Pavlyuchenko's trained well this week. He's worked hard and showed a great attitude.
"I've always said he has got great ability. When he wants to work and give everything, he's a top quality player.
"I felt we dominated play and were the better team today."

Well that can be only done if he is picked to play. 3 goals in 2 sub app's is not a bad start if you ask me.....

Yeah, M8 - but the part of my post should (and probably can) be understood in relation to a post I made earlier, when all the 'Sympathy for Pav.' stuff was being posted. It's not that I don't have some sympathy for the fella. It is just thatwhen he made his first media moan he gave 'Arry the problem that if he played him straight away he would seem weak and bully-able. So Pav. may have played more if he hadn't whinged. He then whinged again, round about October, and agian in Jan. We don't actually know what goes down, do we. I may be correct and Pav's game time could be inversely related to his whinge-athons (or I could be totally wrong).

I like the guy, I really do. But maybe that's part of the problem. lamost everyone like's Pav. and it's like 'Arry is being demonised for not caving-in after Pav's media whinges and playing him, and being genuinely perplexed by his inability to 'reach' Pav. in a motivational way (and the language barrier doesn't help). I know 'Arry does like his fav's like Crouchie, but risk his own success for it...I doubt it very much. refuse to play a player who is clearly showing in training just on a whim...I doubt it very much. Consistently play a player who is crap...I doubt it very much. RotKnopf has been very open about what he likes about Crouch and what he wants from Pav. - effort and work-rate. Is he right in this...I dunno; but surely the translator has told Pav. this (it did make me ask, earlier in the season what the hell he would have made of The Bulgar:eek:mg:).

Good shout that fazza - will see if I can get the lads to invalidate the book if he's out through injury...hadn't thought about that!

First time I've felt good after a game in a while. A decent performance, and when we actually got the ball down and played we were pretty good, thought the regularity with which I punted it up to Crouch was still annoying. Still, we did play some good stuff, Kranjcar and Bale were both very good while Modric came on and reminded me why we love him so much. Then there's Pav.

Pavlyuchenko came on and even before he scored looked lively, showed nice touches and feints, linked up well with the midfield and seemed very determined to make his claim. His firs goal, well that was just what you want from your number 9 and after some fantastic work from Modric it must be said, both players combining skill and determination, and the same two attributed were present as Pav scored his second goal.

We scored a clearly offside goal to take the lead, but it's about time we got some luck. They say it balances out, well this is for the goal that should have been given v Liverpool.

I felt the ref was a bit card happy with us while very lenient with them, but I've more than made my feelings clear on how refs seem to think us soft southerners shouldn't ever tackle while the paupers in the north can bruise the night away to their hearts content.

One thing I will say is well done Redknapp on the subs. I've been a critic of his in match tactics, but today he did very well. He only had 2 subs to make in effect thanks to Kings injury (well done Huddlestone for selling King as short as you could with the pass) and at both substitutions I was bemused, wondering why Kranjcar was making way for possibly the last player you'd want in these conditions, and why Pav was replacing Defoe and not Crouch. However, both players came on, played well and linked very well to pretty much win us the game in the end, so I can only congratulate our manager on getting it absolutely right on this occasion.

Very satisfied. I've been very hungover and sleep deprived today, while my back feels like a herd of elephants has stampeded over it, so a Spurs win was much needed and has made me feel better.

Oh, and we're fourth, just to remind all you 'our season's over, we have nothing to play for' types.

Good win today on an awful awful pitch that Wigan deserved to get fined for! Thought we dominated the game for 70 odd minutes! Very happy to see Pav score couple of goals and was also pleased with the whole teams reaction to his goals shows we have good team spirt. Only downside from todays game was Crouch another poor performence from the big man. Also Defoe his over all play was ok although he was lucky with his goal. The down side was he was very lucky not to get sent off for his challenge on Caldwell in the first half. Its the 2nd time this season after the Portsmouth game where he appears to have lost his temper. Shame about Ledleys injury as well tought with his track record with injuries it was a risk playing him on that pitch.

Overall though a profesional performence and a good win in extreamly difficult conditions!

Ledley just had a dead leg, can happen to anyone, just that as it's Ledley the harbingers of doom like to pipe up.

I thought we were better in the 2nd half than the first. Modric made a hell of a difference to our attacking play and feel very pleased for Pav.
Positives were a pretty solid back four, good hard working performances from Krajcar, Bentley & Palacios.
Agree with comment on ratings thread that Hudd is just a more popular JJ. Thought he was often innocuous today and could easily have been sent off for two yellows. The score was 1-0 at the time and having to play 15 minutes with 10 men could have produced a very different result. He also sold King short with the pass that ended with King getting injured.
Crouch is playing very poorly and was a waste of space for much of the game. He never looked like scoring when put through on the keeper in the 2nd half.
But overall a much better team display than may have been lately.

The only disappointing aspect was another poor performance by Wiley, he did his best destroy a relatively good game, considering the state of the pitch.

Maybe his time is up.

The long high balls they hit in the second half was great practice for Wednesday though.

TBH 'Arry very often looks like he don't give a sh*t when we score, and sometimes doesn't een appear to be watching the game. I suspect you are just noticing it more this time 'cos it's Pav. I really doubt he would be unhappy 'cos Pav. made sure we won the match and increased our goal differnce by two.

In fact, isn't this just so typically Spurs fan-ish - moan about 'Arry, moan about the team selection, moan about recent form, and when we win by 3 clear goals on a manky pitch in what promised to be a tough game against a team who would most definitely have been up for revenge...complain 'cos 'Arry 'didn't want pav. to score' - what utter B*ll*x:roll:

Exactly on the money. Funny how apparently one person got to notice the look on Harry's face when BOTH goals were scored, when Sky Sports only showed a clip 30 seconds after he had scored his second.......who knows Harry may have been strumming his banjo and playing a bit of air guitar before the camera went to him.

I still cant believe some of the negative shit, on a day when we played extremely well on the worst pitch in about 25 years, I remember when it was cool to hate Arsenal and West Ham rather than your own players/manager.

Special mention to Pav today, I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch, but he showed brilliant composure and his movement was much better than Defoe's. And he looked so happy when he scored, which is very important. I think he even went to pat the badge when he scored the first......but I wont pull him up on the fact he actually got the Puma logo instead!

But well done Pav.

And well done Harry.

Our offside goal doesn't make up for Liverpool or the Villa non-pen, it makes some redress for the cheating of Scharner at the Lane.
I do wish harry would sit down with a chalk board and go through the offside rule with somebody you know, it was good we got away with it today but it does infuriate me at times, he didn't need to be offside either.

Defoe's goal was offside but it was only by a whisker unlike the pundits were saying. They kept putting the line up with the last defender which made him look miles off, when in actual fact he was virtually in line with the ball when it was played which meant he was so so marginally off.

his legs were just offside, but his head was about 1 and a half feet offside, which in the law is offside (any part of the body that can play the ball)
