Neto is a very good player. Another a mate of mine mentioned that may be available is a lad called Kubo - anyone seen anything go him ?
Kubo is quality, having an insane season thus far. Was at Real Madrid previously but they just loaned him out a lot before selling him (he didn't play for them once as far as i know), they have a 50% sell on clause. They sold him for only 7 mil last year. 22 year old short Left footed right winger, very very tricky with great acceleration. Although he is very versatile and can play pretty much anywhere across the top. Need to see if he can hold up his form, as I said, he's having a fantastic season. Still he was also good last season so this isn't a case of one season wonder its just this season he has been next level. Already scored something like 5 goals. Tbh i'd just want to sign him for his goal celebration...

Also played for Ange previously for a short loan spell I believe

I really like Mitoma, but he's massivley overrated and lacks consistency. He's also probably older than the age profile we'd like, and would cost an absolute fortune.

Pedro Neto is in my opinion a much better option, younger, cheaper, and I think better.
I'm with you there, obviously I don't watch a lot of Brighton but as they are now local to me and I know a lot of fans round here, I tend to watch them more than most other teams apart from us.

I've seen too many games where he's been anonymous and unable to make things happen.
He's a good player but at 26 and for the price he'd cost, I'd rather look elsewhere.

I agree with others in here that the next winger we purchase has to be on another level. Jota feels of a similar level to Solomon imo, decent but not the type of player that will take us up a level.

Agree.

Right now we are short in centre back. Romero and VDV are looking like they can be a top quality partnership. But we need a 3rd player who is good enough to play big matches when needed. This could be an up and comer or a high quality ageing player who is happy to be a squad player.

In central midfield we have Bissouma, Sarr and Bentancur. We likely want to upgrade on Hojbjerg or Skipp but unlikely to be a first team player.

But a quality first team attacker is definitely required. In Son, Johnson, Kulusevski, Gil and Solomon we have good options out wide. But a guaranteed first team starter would transform us.

If Mitouma signs the contract, he's out. Neto is probably the one for me. He definitely won't come cheap.

Yes, a third CB has to be next, but they need to be of sufficient quality. Unfortunately we need one this January, so we might not get to be so choosy.

Yep. Unfortunately with signings, you don't always get to pick the position to prioritise as sometimes the right quality or player just isn't available.

If we buy one quality player ready for the 1st team squad and 1 good youngster in January, I'd be very happy. Regardless of position.

My opinion we need the following

a starting wing forward that we believe can get us 15+goals a year. Basically a young Son

a young, fast ball playing CB who is willing to be a back up this season. But has the potential to become a starter.

a young striker who can play through the middle. We potentially already have this at the club, but if not, then we need to sign one

if Lo Celso wants or needs to leave, then we need another No 10. Eze would be ideal. But if not the next young player breaking through in this position.

and lastly, keep signing the next best young players and leave them where they are currently. Aka Sarr and Udogie. Love having this type of signing to look forward too.

Not sure we need all this.

For the 10 position, we have Kulu who can play there and I think donley should be given minutes there too and we have Devine coming back from a loan.

we have veliz, and then a bunch of young strikers in the academy.

with son playing up top too, for me, I think richy is the one we should upgrade, although dependent on how veliz does as I think veliz could really be something special and suits the EPL.

If veliz isn’t good enough (time will tell) then I’d go for vlahovic (Evan Ferguson would be ideal but would cost a fortune).

It’s a shame utd signed Hojlund as he would have been really good for us.

with cbs, we have Philips and dorrington making great progress so another young cb would block their route and mentally be undermining.

I think lloyd Kelly would be a great idea as he covers lb as well and is an improvement on Davies, is HG too and is another for dorrington and Phillips to learn from.

regarding a young son replacement, well I agree with need a top, pacy left winger and is what we are lacking.

I don’t think Solomon is great and gil may not be suited to the EPL, just like Lo Celso isn’t.

I think Pedro Neto is the obvious choice and can play both flanks.

I like Kang-In Lee and was surprised he went to psg and he’s not playing much there so we may be able to get him and he play the 10 role too.

An alternative would be samuel idling-junior, a CAA Base client and a contract running out in 2025.

A good young English player at Juve who plays on the left wing

I agree on picking up talented youngsters for the academy too.

So, I think let’s not rush to get a number 10 and a new striker.

Left wing and another cb are crucial for January imho, offloading more players like sessegnon, lo celso, dier, Lloris, possibly Gil, etc are equally important.

giving a pathway to the first team for some of our youngsters is important too.

In the final third I think we have good squad options and young players. But a 1st team quality for right now would transform us.

If we can’t find that player then we’ll have to hope one of the existing players step up.

Think Morgan gibbs white would be a smart signing. Also a punt on kalvin Phillips and sell skipp Hojbjerg and GLC

Would leave us with 6 CMs with 3 home grown

Bissouma
Bentancur
Gibbs-White (HG)
Maddison (HG)
Phillips (HG)
Sarr

Great mix of talent for 3 positions all 27 years old or younger

I think Gibbs White will be target number 2 if we can’t land Eze. There’s reportedly long term interest in both.

Although you can make the argument for getting both in the side (Eze LW, MGW in the Maddison role).

One that will get away fast and maybe a bit too soon for him but Luis Guilherme fits the left-footed RWF profile to a tee.

Only 17 but already showing how brilliant he is. Good height, sprightly, rapid and can go inside and outside. Tricky too.

Surprise surpise Chelsea want him but I would be trying to nip in there and warn him against that move.

I have been seeing few Bundesliga games.
From those, I really like following talents :

  1. Enzo Millot (Stuttgart) - class midfielder, for me competition to Maddison
  2. Jan Niklas Beste - Crushed Bundesliga 2 last season, now started very well for newly promoted side Heidenheim. He is a left footed winger, with some very good crossing , setpieces & penalties. Ideal Perisic replacement. And IMO, far better than Solomon ever will be.
Also mentions on Dincki (LW), Maxmillian Beier (FW) & Hugo Larsson (CM)
