Anyone know the latest on him?
Are we gonna see him next season?
It seems like he may never recover, a groin strain that keeps you out for a season must be mighty sore!!

Well from what i hear, he was almost back to full fitness then one night some pikeys broke into the shed they were keeping him in and stole the gubbins-valve, which means a whole new flange-compressor.

I think he's got the thing that has just stolen the IP address of one of my computers.

If he has it is a bugger to sort. Poor lad

I've heard from a good source (that I'm happy to share with a mod) that the Club don't expect him to return

Hope we give him some sort of role if he does have to retire. another youth development guy or something.

I found a picture of him following his last visit to the doctor - i've spoilered it as he's been through a lot and the tubes and wires coming out of him look a bit creepy, but are there for his own good, to help his recovery.

Defending coach I should think

but I reckon he'll be back

Rare that a stomach/goin injury ends a player's career

Probably that as opposed to Forward's coach I'd say

:)

I meant that he could go straight as a defensive coach for the first team squad rather than some academy role he might know nothing about. We have Parkes as keeping coach, Sherwood midfield, Ferdinand as striker but nobody specifically on defending as far as I know........

Kevin Bond was a centre back by trade.

I love Woodgate but do we actually know anything about wether or not he would make a good coach? For all we know he could be worse than Tony Adams.

I hope he can continue playing, but I'm not concerned with keeping him, at the club if he can't.

he had a winner today at Newcastle

England soccer star Jonathan Woodgate missed the chance to be part of the country's World Cup squad because of injury, but had his sprits lifted when Jonny Mudball won the totescoop6 Handicap in the hands of Seb Sanders.
The heavily-backed 5-2 favourite was another pillar-to-post winner, going clear inside the final furlong and passing the post four and a half lengths ahead of Poet's Place.
Former Newcastle defender Woodgate owns the Tom Dascombe-trained colt in partnership with three other family members, including his father Alan, who said: "Jonathan has been out in Australia having an operation on his groin, but he is fine now and is recovering abroad.
"Jonny Mudball has been knocking on the door on his last two runs and the Stewards' Cup is the plan now."

It's winter in Australia - a strange choice to recuperate, unless there's a medical reason for wearing a jumper on Bondi Beach.
