Just a bit of a whinge from me, my turn, everyone else is at it!

I am getting increasingly annoyed at the amount of drivel and shit I have to trawl through on this site at the moment. Its understandable to a degree because no doubt we are currently struggling (which can easily be turned around - but thats another thread) but when I 'lurk' in Spurs Chat Im usually pretty engrossed in the intelligent debate regarding players / formations / tactics etc. Lately all I have been reading is attack after attack on the players, the coaching staff, even the fucking owners!!

There are so many wannabes who think they know better than the guys who are actually making the decisions and running the club. I can quite confidently say that NONE of you know more about the current situation (or the future for those who are so arrogant to second guess Levy's intentions) then the people you are so quick to criticise.

Dont get me wrong, of course I am a little bit concerned that this season (alot like last) has not started how we would have liked it to and I do not put my blinding faith in Ramos et al, however I do trust that these guys are well aware of whats going wrong and working very very hard to rectify this. They get paid a hell of alot more money than me to their jobs, so I trust that they know what they are doing.

Whatever and whomever is to blame for who we did and did not sign (or sold) over summer is neither here nor there for us as fans. We have a team, they are called Tottenham Hotspur, lets just drop the all the shit and get ourselves behind them...dont get me wrong I have opinions and I do not want to discourage people from airing theirs but lets keep it intelligent and civil.

Please keep this site as it is - an excellent place to read intelligent discussion and debate over Spurs. NOT a place for every half wit with an opinion to spout off their ill informed frustrations.

Apologies for the rant but I was at my wits end reading some of the tripe on here today...

Rant accepted mate. The problem is, too many posters and fans in general get caught up in the bullsh1t hype that surrounds our club. The press love to build us up pre-season as a 'challeng to the top 4' so that they can then knock us down - it gives them easy column inches.

We aint gonna break top 4, our squad is no where near the strength of Scums, Manscum, Bluescum or Liverscum, so get over it.

Agree with you 100%. We need to get a team in place and then have some consistency in the squad and then we will start challenging the top 4 teams. Until we get everyone bedded in we will have results that are all over the place, but i reckon we will beat the the teams that we have lost in the return fixtures this season.

When things are going well I'm sure the posts are, on average, way more positive than our position actually merits. At the moment things couldn't be much worse regarding our league position and points total, our performance agaist Villa was rubbish, and most fans feel pretty disappointed. This is the place to come and let off steam. The rants are often shortsighted and posted in the heat of the moment, but there are some which are very worthwhile. In the end, though, it's just opinion. If we lose and someone has played particularly poorly then expect threads like "XXXX is shit!". After 3 defeats in our opening 4 games, expect people to question the decision makers. The rants are valid posts, even if you don't like them.
Personally, I like the feel of this site and the fact that we get rediculous threads and over the top comments. It adds some texture and causes entertaininly heated 'debates'. If I don't like a thread title ("XXX is shit!" for example) then I dont read it. Simple. The one thing that grates my balls is titles like "I was thinking..." or do "do you..." or "why" without any hint of what the actual topic is. Only seconds are needed to find out, though, so it isn't too much of a hassle.

Anyway, I don't wholly disagree with you, I jsut understand that negative posts are to be expected at the moment. They will change as our season turns around, mark my words.

I totally agree with you Davros. My whinge was the excessiveness of it all recently. I concede I may have just noticed it moreso following the Villa match and should probably have expected it, but for some reason it really did my head in today...

IMO banter and passion (good and bad) is a part of what makes football awesome.

Yes. But its the quality of the debate that is interesting - not the post after post of so and so is shit, sack commoli, levys trying to sell the club, this is what ramos should do etc etc. It really gets my goat (!) that people think they know better than people who get paid millions to do the job

I half agree with you rant....however....as a VERY unhappy Yid, I reserve the right to criticize and RANT when I can plainly see that the Levi like management of THFC is great in some areas but DREADFUL in others (namely the ON field areas!). I agree that the only people who can actually change what 'ailes' us are those who are, currently, the ones who seem to have NO idea what they are doing (be they Manager, Support Staff, Players and Training staff!). It is a JOKE, for whatever reason...and it MUST change, either way. The excuse that we are a new team is rubbish...since had we managed our transfer dealings more adequately in the first place (as ALL the other lower teams appear to have done!) then we would be 'where we belong'.... higher OR lower, as it goes. The responsibility rests with someone at WHL and unless they are confronted (or removed to a safer distance)....we will not improve!
However at the end of the day, we re ALL THFC fans and we ALL need to pull together to overcome our current ailments! COYS!

You know this Thread will turn in to the exact type of thread you hate don't you :)

I think its natural that when we are doing poorly that people will try and work out why and will have different ideas as to why or who maybe to blame.

It annoys me that people won't question whats going on at the club. For example Levy can do no wrong or can't be questioned as he has done on the whole a pretty good job. Ricard Fuld at Lehmans made loads of money for his company and did a good job for quite some time !

I'm of the opinion that if things are going badly whether it be on or off the pitch then generally someone will be to blame, people are generally ready to stand up and take the credit when its going well. The interesting part is who everyone blames.

A bit of a rant about having only one point and being bottom of the table certainly beats complaining about the weather!

Come of it mate, this is a messageboard! I accept your rant and we see similar things posted quite frequently, but at the end of the day, it's the debate about who is to blame or credit that makes these boards entertaining. I think most people just take it as an obvious truism that we don't have all the facts, but we shouldn't let that stop us, as otherwise we'd have very little to talk about. If it wasn't for the stuff that gets your goat, then messageboards like this wouldn't be anywhere near as popular as they are. It's like the tabloid press, they are full of shit and get evryone's goat, but they sell by the bucket load.

I really tried to see the funny side mate..honestly I did!!

Anyway in response to a few people - I am all for the rants and moans and the different opinions, its just SC is usually a good place for informed and intelligent rants and moans, not the monkey see monkey do crap thats been around a bit last few days. I accept its probably been the fallout from the Villa match.

We had better play well tomorrow and Sunday or this place will be a no-go area for me in the interests of my sanity!!

Fair enough fella there were some stupid comments and questions on there. I was interested when I opened the thread as I would love to get some answers from levy in regards to how a few things have panned out but a lot was jsut super negative and not really that helpful.

The site has dropped off a bit after the transfer window has closed IMO. I'd guess its because there hasn't been anything good happen at the club after the signings of modric/bentleyGDS etc were signed. Everyone was a little bit disspointed with the last few days of the window, then we started poorley so all in all there is nothing really postive to discuss apart from JJ on Monday night and I don't think a postive JJ thread would get to far !! :)
