Moise Kean probably earns at Everton +100k p/w due to Raiola is his agent and he wants to be a starter(impossible here with Son and Kane).
Everything seems impossible when it comes to spurs signing players. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Pathetic. Get the deals done early like a big club does. Penny pinching can only go so far and then others will catch up as we are seeing right now IMO. You have to keep improving. A club in our position should of been adding 1 or 2 quality players each window to freshen it up, like Ferguson used to do, no wholesale changes but enough to keep united on top.

This guy gets it. We can’t even get sessegnon over the line early. Bit of a joke if you ask me. Champions league finalists, top 4 regulars, best stadium, one of the best coaches in the world, huge profits etc etc.. something doesn’t add up for me.

This guy gets it because he agrees with me :LOL:

In all seriousness the reason we probably didn't go for Kean is one, he clearly wanted to go somewhere where he is guaranteed first team football because I'm sure a whole host of teams would have gone for him otherwise and I doubt he fancies his chances against the worlds best striker. Two it is essentially an expensive loan with a buy back clause, so it's not a great deal.

Because we're trying for players that clubs don't want to sell?

That's the difference between being Everton and being Champions League finalists

Really? Bet is are chomping at the bit to off load GLC, Sporting have told BF he can leave and Juve have basically told Dybala they don't want him, so I don't follow your logic...

No buy back according to Sky sports.

We are all of those things because, in no small part, of Levy. The window isn't shut yet and we don't know what's being worked on. Am as eager to know as you are, but just because i don't, doesn't mean that nothing is going on and doesn't mean that i have to be angry about my lack of knowledge.

I'll be as frustrated as you if nothing happens by Friday, but Levy deserves the benefit of the doubt until that time. He's built this club to operate beyond it's means based on solid business decisions. Like it or not, that's who we are and he's acing it.

We aren't signing Zaha. Palace would actually want and expect at least £80m.

I was under the impression that we low balled him on the proposed salary we would pay him and that was what broke the negotiations. We can certainly afford to pay him since we've gotten rid of Vorm, Llorente, Tripps , Janssen and hopefully GKN and wanyama.

And then all our players will want parity or greater. His demands would have unsettled the rest of the squad.

The question for me is whether he was willing, at reasonable wages, willing to come in and fight for playing time because it is definitely not a given that he would be a starter or even the top attacker off the bench once Son is back.

On another note, where has all of the big spending taken Manure over the past 4 years. Oh yeah, they are playing in EL again. Spending money does not guarantee success. Adding the right type of players does and Poch wants players that are going to be willing and able to compete in training / not just on game day. I want us to get players this window also but am glad that we are not just willing to buy anyone and overpay them to come.

Betis have told the media they don't want to sell to us. In both cases they have basically said they can only leave if someone offers nauseating amounts for them. Dybala has said he's not leaving.

Very different to ~£30m players who clubs want to sell to get in better players.

Not really anything to do with Zaha in any case, except for Palace don't want to sell him either.

£65m upfront is almost unheard of. These deals are always structured with yearly payments.

Yeah, fair point. If they're truly considering selling Zaha, I imagine they'll demand £65m upfront or alternatively between £70 - £80m in those structured payments. Now that've written that out, I don't think we'll be doing any business with Palace lol

They got up front money from United for AWB and, like everything United do, it has poisoned the well for everyone moving forward. Plus, Palace are probably giving Zaha and his agents the run around. Telling him he'd be sold if a good offer came in and then asking 100m from arsenal and demanding whatever they need to demand up front to kill a deal. I still think there is an opportunity somewhere in the mess. VVD left in January after a drawn out saga with Southampton. Maybe there's a deal to be made in January before the Chavs are back in the market.

based on what exactly? Not having a dig. Genuinely would like to know. Kean is highly rated, has scored goals at a very high level for a huge club and at international level. Parrot is a kid, who hasn’t once played for the first team.

I watched Juve quite alot last season and he looked limited minus decent finishing but let's face it Rasiak would get decent figures for Juve, pretty sure Parrot would now too. His international goals were versus Finland and Liechtenstein. Based on that I wouldn't want us to spend 30 million on the kid when we have Parrott that looks more talented despite never being tested at a high level. Both are a gamble but I'd go with the free one.

Given what Parrott has shown during pre-season, I don't think going for Kean would make sense. If we strengthen the AM position, we can always play Son, Moura or Parrott as backup CF's.

I don't disagree, but the reality is that Kean is 19 with 35 Serie A appearances. At just 17, there seems to be some disagreement as to whether Parrott is even far enough a long to be in the first team.

It's not Kean v. Parrott. It's Someone Who Can Play v. Someone Who Isn't Ready.

Parrot looked pretty ready to me in preseason tbh. He played against some of the best centre backs in recent history and didn't look out of place

He looked great for 17. Really great. Absolutely can’t wait for his league cup debut. Is he going to lead the line this year in a title race if HK takes a knock? Forget title race, what about just another top six struggle? What if there is a more serious or chronic ankle issue? Not a chance. There is no depth in this squad anywhere but forward most of all. Looking forward to bringing on Nkoudou the game changer during the City game with Son suspended and Dele hurt.
