Pav already said he was exhausted after one half and he is playing ON HIS OWN.

And Daws has a dip in form and is recovering from a stiff hamstring.

And Corky had an awful game as a right back and Lennon is in front of him to further weaken the right side.

Points 1 and 3 I've dealt with so I'll just assume you're ignoring that on purpose. And Daws isn't playing.

So what exactly is your point?

Think that went as well as it could go. We were always going to be nervous which is probably why we tried to pack the midfield. It worked as we looked alot more solid and Pav looked good up front even though the midfield didn't get near him for 50 minutes.

Then having looked a bit more secure we bought on Dos Santos and that opened it all up a bit for us.

Not a great performance and for a long time not even a good performance. But the result we needed and hopefully it will introduce some confidence.

Pros: O'Hara's coolness for his goal, Woody, Pav's first goal, Pav giving the Argie a red nose, Gio.

Awful, awful game.

But we won. Were one step closer to Wembely, one step closer to Europe and I can no longer say 'I think Atouba was playing the last time we beat Newcastle'. Also Pompey look rubbish, and well, we won.

I honestly think O'Hara was one of our best players today. He always is when he plays because of the amount of effort he gives. Now compare that to Jenas who's a certain starter. Was Jenas even on the pitch today? The way I look at it, if it wasn't for Woodgate and King together, we'd most likely be out of the CC. To the people that undervalue the pair, re-watch tonights game.

Now ramos, do us all a favour and play the same starting 11 against Portsmouth!

Just this one time, please?

Agreed.

Was surprised that Ramos took Lennon off to replace Campbell instead of taking off Zokora or better, Jenas. I'd have thought with Gio, Campbell & Lennon the pace would have worked well.

Well apart from a scrappy game I thought Pavlyuchenko was excellent for us tonight, got stuck in, showed the argie what he's made of and took his goal brilliantly, i'm well pleased for him, good on O'Hara, he did well again tonight and took his goal well also.
