Pav upfront on his own.

JJ, Zokora and O'Hara in midfield.

King fit to play again.

Interesting.

I don't like the look of that line-up, really don't understand what's wrong with the 4-4-2? I think Campbell also deserved a start.

And the most expensive bench in the Premier League.

Pav will have to work bloody hard tonight. Hopefully O'Hara and Zokora can do the defensive job and allow JJ to get forwards a bit.

To be fair the only game where we havn't been completely mullered in midfield this season was against Chelsea where we had 5 in midfield.

I don't think any of our central midfielders are good enough to just play in a 2. That's the problem.

Nidge - thanks. That team - especially King & Woodgate at CB - shows that Ramos is taking the Carling Cup VERY seriously.

EDIT: and the bench is incredibly strong. Plus no Dawson, Huddlestone, or Gunter. Hmmmm...

That's what I was thinking as well. When Ramos was at Seville he rested a lot of first team players for the Uefa cup matches when he had a very, very good chance of winning the league.

It is probably the ebst formation give our problems. Newcastle have tended to play two upfront with one in the hole, so it would cover that, and Newcastle's midfield and defence have look like they have been on different teams so we could get men in there from midfield.

And it might suit Pavlyuchenko to play up on his own. Tonight is about getting a result and I think this formation shows that.

Key for me will be the wing men - Lennon especially - and Jenas in midfield. He needs to break forward, support and get past Pav. If he doesnt then we will struggle. The front man needs support!
