Pavlyuchenko Defoe

Would've been class I reckon.
Might have been a little too lightweight, it is asking Palacios to do all the work in regards to winning the ball and providing 'bite' (well not all but very little support)

I think if we are going to play Lennon and Modric in the same midfield we could use someone in the Davids mould or even a hard worker like Malbranque.

O'Hara is not really ready to be the full time LW I don't think, BEntley is not a left sided player and I feel we need to play our players in their best postions...plus he does not track back enough.

You have the option to play Bale in front of BAE but BAle has not shown anything this season to suggest he is ready to be a premier league winger (also I doubt BAE would make a LW on a regular basis)

If Appiah performs as he has in the past then I really like that line-up. Lennon is there to offer an out ball. We'd have two strong players in the middle and modric would have license to come inside and not have as much defensive responsibility as he has in the middle.

Well according to the mail he was reluctant to move south but his head was turned by a bumped wage packet.

If true (which i doubt), sounds like just the player we need

He wouldn't be the only one like that at the club. Hutton needed a lot of coaxing to leave his beloved Rangers. So long as he does what he is supposed to do when he's here, is all that matters.

I really haven't seen enough of him to be able to judge whether this is a good deal or not, providing it does happen.

I mean he played quite well against us, but has anyone here actually seen him enough times to know whether he is the player we need in the center?

Wilson Palacios' proposed move from Wigan to Tottenham may hinge on persuading the Honduras international to move to London.

Spurs have agreed a fee of around £14million for the 24-year-old, but the midfielder is settled in the north-west and has a close support network in the area.
An increase in wages could be a factor, but Manchester City are also thought to be interested and Palacios could opt to wait until the summer before leaving the JJB Stadium.

This sounds like Alan Hutton all over again.

I think we need to play Palacios and Modric in most games. And play with one winger and one wide box to box midfielder on the opposite wing. I think, with Palacios and Modric in the middle, our old combination of Malbranque on the left and Lennon on the right would have been ideal. So someone with the energy and workrate of Malbranque. O'Hara is good at doing just that, but ideally i'd like Downing.

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp has reportedly offered Wilson Palacios bigger and better personal terms to the ones originally offered last week.

With a fee of fourteen million pounds, to be paid up front, agreed between Spurs and Latics the player's wages proved to be another stumbling block to a Palacios move down south.

Wigan Athletic have offered to double the Honduran ace's wages, but Redknapp is now prepared to scupper Steve Bruce's latest bid to keep hold of Palacios by making the player an offer he can't refuse.

Quite clearly Redknapp is determined to get his man.
