He looks good, a bit like a less creative carrick.

Palacios has the eye for a pass by the looks of it, he just does not execute the delivery and final ball as well. Looks like he has great strength and awareness though, hopefully he will have a massive impact on our attacking and defensive game + control in the middle of the park.

His work permit has been cancelled. He is on a plane back to South America as i type.

Nice one Delboy, 14 mil back in the bank to spend on the next coming of Neil Webb then?...

BBC:

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Wigan to sign Wilson Palacios for £12m. The midfielder has passed a medical after agreeing terms and the transfer will be completed once the Honduras international receives a work permit.

I thought it was an acceptable question - Does anyone know if a date has been set for the work permit decision? Certainly it will be a grant, just asking when?

Play it cool Trig,... play it nice and cool...

It probably won't even be announced, like with Gomes. By the time his suspension finished he'll certainly have a WP and be in the first team or at least on the bench for whoever we play

Someone remind me - which games is he suspended for? The games against United and Stoke, or Stoke and Bolton?

Apparently Burnley and Man Utd, if you believe the papers. I haven't seen any real confirmation of that though from a source which is believable.

Stoke and Bolton surely, I can't see how one could serve a suspention during a game they are ineligable to play in anyway.

according to FA.com - he's suspended for both stoke & bolton

Tottenham Hotspur FC

Wilson Palacios Suazo

24/01/2009 to 31/01/2009

Suspended from all football until the Club have completed 2 first team matches for 5/10/15 cautions

Yep, so that covers Stoke and Bolton.

Unless it means he's available on the 31/01 (the day of the Notlob game). Doubt it though.

This obviously means he's bound to score a hatful against Arsenal, on debut, having not scored a goal since he was in the playground.

The work permit will not be any sort of problem, its just this stupid rule about footballers having to re apply when they change club, stupid really, if you come to this country and are granted a 5 year work permit, you reapply at the end of 5 years whether you change job or not but for some reason this rule does not apply to professional footballers

the process is already underway and is expected to take up to 7 days, as with gomes there is no need to advertise its completion (unless any skeletons fall out of the cupboard)

Discussion are underway with the FA for confirmation of his availability, Suspended from all football until the Club have completed 2 first team matches
will include CC and FA but until we are in possession of the work permit, he is not fully registered, we await confirmation as to whether his suspension activates on transfer or registration.
