Anyone think Harry didn't make any changes, because he's thinking of starting with that team on Saturday (exception being the centre backs if King and Woodgate are fit)? I think with Lennon out Bentley comes in, and Bentley needs Hutton behind him to overlap and create space for him. Bale could have played his way in, especially with Kranjcar's performance on Saturday. And if Crouch's injury persists we'll have no option but Pavlyuchenko to partner Keane.

i don't follow your logic. if 'Arry wants these to play again on saturday (4 days time), that is surely a good reason not to keep them on for 90

Harry just said Bentley had really good game! Think he will be a shoe in for Saturday if Lennon isnt fit

Just back from the game. I haven't been a Bentley fan but he was superb tonight, MOTM by some margin. Also think Hutton earned his place for the NLD ahead of Corluka.

Great feedback from my fellow Yids ! I am not a big fan of Hutton, but listening to the radio, sounded like Bale,Hutton and BENTLEY played well ! I am a big keane fan, but how we really miss Defoe ! Anyway Pav looked rusty today ....

harry lack of subs is consistent and deliberate in most games. I find it a bit odd. Pav wasn't awful... his finishing was awful but his movement and touch were good. I thought we were better than them all over the pitch and that includes keane and Pav getting the better fo thier CB's.

don't think hutton will displace charlie but on the other hand won't be gutted if he does. it's pace and aggression vs positioning and composure. the perfect fullback would have all that!

Is there not even any highlights on tonight?

Sounds like we played really well, for the arsenal game, if no lennon i would go for Bentley and Bale, think we need to have pace and width on one flank and Bale will provide this. If we go with Kranc & Bentley will lack pace all over the pitch.

SkySports1 at midnight I believe.

As for tonight, far more good than bad. Very encouraging regarding our depth.

Gomes pulled off 2 or 3 very good saves, one of which was from Hutton, and must be praised for our clean sheet. 7

Hutton possibly had his best game for us. Certainly since his first month at the club. He anticipated well, marked well, tackled well. He also overlapped brilliantly and linked up very nicely with Bentley. 7.5

Ekotto was his usual self. He was pretty good but he could have done better when he had crossing opportunities and Bassong had to bail him out once or twice. 6.5

Bassong played very well in my opinion. Fast, strong, read things well, covered very nicely. Proved that he is capable against very good strikers even without King holding his hand. Pleasing. 7.5

Dawson was good tonight. He gave away his usual selection of free kicks, but he was so brave, throwing his body in the way of everything. He also won his headers well. Distribution was poor, but what Daws might lack in technique, he more than makes up for with determination. 7

Bentley had his best game for us. He linked well with Keane, Hutton and Huddlestone, put in many good crosses and through balls and even had a successful dribble or two. If Lennon is facing a spell on the sidelines, and Bentley makes this his standard, we'll have some wonderful competition for that right hand berth. 8.5

Bale looked class, especially in the second half (we seemed to only want to ping the ball at his head in the first half). He dribbled well, crossed well, was clever on the turn, protected Ekotto, I can't really complain about him at all. Deserved an assist for his drag back to Pav, and really looked dangerous. Long may it continue, he's a real talent. 8

Huddlestone had a poor first half in my opinion. Yes, he scored, but he hit a few sloppy passes and miscontrolled a fair few times. Much better in the second half, he found some confidence because his passing was back. He still took his time when deciding what to do a bit too often. 7

Palacios was superb. Good tackling, good dribbling, good passing, he is our heartbeat and I love him. 7.5

Keane was involved, which is a start, but his passing and finishing were both poor tonight. I also cannot remember the last time he was offside so much. However, he was constantly in the game, and after missing the pen (which he won) he was at least at hand to score after the ball had bounced around the area. A better second half and some was part of some good moves, including the build up for the first goal in the first half. 6.5

Pavlyuchenko worked his socks off, his touch was ok and he definitely improved when we took the lead. He just seems devoid of confidence in front of goal. He had some good opportunities tonight, not least from a great Bale drag back, but strikers especially need game time to stay sharp. 6

I thought Bentley had a superb match tonight, infact i thought a lot of the players had a really good game against quite a strong looking Everton lineup. Some of our passing tonight was magnificent and with better finishing Everton could have received a right walloping. Also thought we battled very well when we did'nt have the ball.

Bentley played like he finally realises he has something to prove and if Lennon is'nt fit for saturday, the thought of Bentley playing like he did tonight, with Crouchie to get on the end of his crosses, is quite an appealing one.

Who was it that we were abusing? I couldn't see, not make out the words. Someone in the east upper/se corner.

There were loads of chants aimed at them, "sacked in the morning", "we'll ring you tommorrow"
