It's not a 'must win' game. It's a game that we'd love to win of course and a game that would give us a great advantage in the race for 4th which is only just beginning. If we don't win it's far from the end of the world!

Why are we talking about must win games in November?

To all those seriously saying it's a must win game, if we get a draw tomorrow is that it for the season?
The teams around us will continue to play each other and drop points in unexpected games.
I think tomorrow is a should win game though.

this is stupid discussion

I think we will turn them over, theyve got too many injuries and we should be raring to go again after the shambles that was Tuesday.

2-0 us!

I reckon if we get our accuracy spot on today, we'll hammer them. I'm going for a 4-0 away win. Look at how many chances we had at Villa, and to be honest, I thought we did pretty well at United until they scored their great goals. COYS!!!!

No.

Why would it come back to that match? Your first statement is right, every point over the season counts. For our final league position, each game carries equal significance, each is worth the same amount of points.

This game is not must win if we want to finish top 4, if it were then drawing or losing tomorrows game would mean we can no longer possibly finish in the top 4.
I must admit I was not quite with you until that statement, which explains what you were trying to say along!

Its a must win if we have any chance of maintaining harry's target of 2 points a game

No—if we don't get 3 points from this one we have to get them somewhere more difficult, that's all.

No matter who we're playing, it seems we get a large number of people trying to rationalise that a draw would be a good result.

FVCK THAT! If we're serious about CL football these are games we must be winning...simple as that.

We should be expected to win this game and if we dont we should all be gutted! Its the only way we will ever compete with the best.

everton have got a shed load of injuries. they are on the ropes. heitinga suspended (nice.) for the sake of our players confidence, that they can believe we have consistency, we have to put on a real performance of trojans. winning is not the be-all as per villa. but we have to come away from the game with real pride, and be able to say every player worked their nuts off and did their best to win this battle.

everton should have beaten a weary liverpool last week. let's show them we are firing on all cylinders, even having lost some great players, we are in rude health.

Must win game, comparing any of their players combined to Modric is laughable.

We're gonna have to prepare for a Bolton-esque game today, it doesn't seemed to get mentioned in the media on how Everton just play long ball football

If Everton weren't crippled by injuries most would take a point at Goodison. I expect us to take advantage of their misfortunes and win, I'll be a bit pissed-off if we don't, but it's not a 'must-win'. We need 10 points from the next five games to keep up a 2PPG average; anything over and above is a bonus. If we don't win today it just means we have to get 9 or 10 from four.

The next person to use the words "must win" in any of their posts in this thread is gay.
