and i'm sorry to everyone but this may not be until tomorrow now. all i can say for now is gudjohnsen is coming, but NOT as a pav replacement as it stands.

Reey I hope you're right yidio

As someone said, does seem more sensible if Keane was to go, as he's more like Eidur, would much prefer that as well, Keane out on loan and Eidur in.

Oh, is this a loan or full signing? As I read somewhere that West Ham were looking to loan him.

am underwhelmed - but as others have said if he's relatively cheap, hwe may be worth the gamble

to me we need someone up front like beckford with some pace and goals in him

if eidur isn't to be a striker - seems to me we still need one - unless pav is going to the proverbial 'like a new signing'

You probably should watch him play some games for Leeds, and not the Match of the day highlights from the FA Cup.

Beckford had a mare away at Swindon in League 1 last night. Why do you think he'd be good enough for us?

At least Gudjohnsen is proven.

I can't think of many players who A would sign for us and B has the ability, skill, intelligence, experience and leadership that he will bring.
I don't believe he has the ability and skill any more, certainly not more than the current players we have anyway. He'll still have the intelliegence and experience, but you still need to be a good player to put them to good use. I don't have a clue if he's still a good leader or not so I'll take your word on it

Where will he play? He played his last year at Chelsea mainly in a three man midfield and most of his time at Barcelona, where he played very little don't forget, in a three man midfield. We won't change our formation for him. I'd prefer to see Krancjar playing off a striker than him if he was to be used in that role. I don't think he'll oust any of our front man if we were to play a 442

I just don't think he's an improvement on what we got so I don't really want him. If he plays half as well as he did at Chelsea then he'll be a great bargain, but I can't see it happening. I'd love to be proved wrong of course.

I don't understand why people can't see this is a good move.

Agreed.

If he can do for Defoe what he did for Hasslebaink we've got an absolute bargain. This guy is strong, skillful, clever and has lovely touch complemented by lovlier passing. He is also more than a bit handy in the air. The guy is basically what someone like Defoe is crying out for, a Sheringham type to play next to. He'll probably do as well in front of goal as either Keane or Crouch, but I reckon he'd play with Defoe better than either of them have been. Modric will love playing with him as well, he could be a very clever signing. He has never been too explosive or pace reliant, so he should last a few years yet as well (31 is not that old anymore). I'm actually quite excited about this guy, and maybe we should have gone for him when we lost Berbatov.

David Sullivan's karma...will he come back as a butt plug? After all the porn baron has probably sold a few and has a hole that spouts shit and needs plugging.

Regardless whether or not he is going to improve our team, surely people are forgetting the most important aspect of this signing (if it happens)...just how much it will piss of the hammers. Worth every penny

If he is coming you can be sure we have also done a deal for Pav (Birmingham I would say?) As For Gudjohnson........well, he was brilliant at Chelsea, but since then IMO has gone down hill - He does have great feet and can make things happen, but will he, and back in the faced paced EPL, TBH, I doubt it!

I think this was just a case of, Pav is off, Gio is off, so what the hell, he is cheap and we have 3 strikers who have played most of the season anyway, so he can definitely replace pav on the bench I guess!

All Gudj is going to cost us is part of his wages, its a loan deal guys relax a bit. If it doesnt work out there's no harm done.

I'd rather Gudjohnsen than RVN. A great player with a bit of intelliogence. If Pav's off then this could be good. But I still can't help feeling we are being used to push through the West Ham deal.
