This is nothing horrible.
Where would he fit in?
Are you gonna take Bale and Modric off the left wing?
We can't play him in the middle - Joe Cole is great on the left wing, but in midfield (especially in a 4-4-2) he's not the same player. And besides, are you gonna leave out Palacios? Huddlestone? Modric?
He would have been a good buy, would have given us a much stronger squad and something different. But it's nothing to cry about.

I'm sure you had a 3 man midfield of Lennon, Sandro, Bellamy with Cole and Modric playing behind a striker

The only thing that bothers me about this is that Liverpool, despite being out of the CL and not likely to make it back, are still a bigger draw than us. Making 4th really doesn't mean that much for us.

My Boss's mate it a journo and told me its been confirmed that he's leaving about 4 months ago. Didn't think much of it but seems to have legs.
