PSV insist they will not sell Liverpool transfer target Ola Toivonen this summer.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old striker and team-mate Carlos Salcido - and Kenny Dalglish was reported to have watched PSV's 3-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar on Sunday.
The Dutch club's sporting director Marcel Brands is not worried by interest in the Swede and thinks he will not move on during the current transfer window.
"I also read about that (Dalglish's trip) in the newspaper, but I didn't see him at the stadium and it is not important. We don't want to lose Ola during this transfer window, " Brands told fotbollskanalen.se.
"They called us last Thursday, in the morning, and asked how much we wanted for Ola Toivanen, but our answer was clear: we will not sell him at this point. We have not heard from them since.
"To have people from other clubs in the stands is quite normal. PSV are a big club and we get visits like that every week."
They are talking specifically about Liverpool but it doesn't look like we'll have a chance either.

Nice one adiepf. Did you know you can bet on Fabiano to Spurs over on Skybet? The odds are pretty poor (3-1) but you could make some money out of it.

Are you seriously asking that question??? It has been on this tread every day for a week now. Nobody is convinced however the reading of the UEFA rules indicates that players playing in the first 3 rounds of qualification can play for an alternative team providing their departed club is no longer in the same competition. The knockout stages of the CL are in reallity round 4 and therefore do not fit into this exception. Therefore, he is cup-tied from the CL. However there are a number of people who think the knockouts are part of the perliminary stages and therefore he isn't cup tied (providing Seville lose).
My conviction is that he would not be able to play otherwise there wouldn't have been such a thing about the arsenal target being withdrawn from the squad to ensure he isn't cup tied.

I have been saying for ages we only need a number 9.
We don't need a left mid/forward. Bale will be immense there. Let's not shackle him at LB.

I'd play that away from home and in Europe, then revert to 442 for easier home games with Defoe coming in.

Gallas may edge Dawson. He's looked a little shakey the last few games. Hopefully Sandro is better than Wilson as well. Not having a go at Wilson, I just hope that Sandro is the greatest player who ever lived :wink:
It means very little as he is already cup tied so they may as well play him and give themselves more of a chance of qualification. If he breaks a leg Seville have lost the 14m Euros from the transfer, if Seville don't qualify they've lost 20+ million CL Euros. It is a gamble worth taking.
I'm getting caught up in all this now, hope you are as right as you are confident!
