I think you are pretty safe with the Anelka opinion. He signed a new contract last summer and is on £100k.

It's why I think there's millage in the Toivonen story, simply because he's the only player we've been linked to (aside from Dzeko) who is the right type of player - a target man who holds the ball up, can link up play and chip in with goals. He can play as a #9 in the CL or when Fabiano is out, or as more of a tall #10 behind Fabiano (like he does when playing alongside Ibra for Sweden).

Re: the Skyderen info, he knew about the Kjaer deal did he not, maybe his source is in the Scandanavian part of the world so maybe his unnamed player is Toivonen??

Hmmm, the Frenchy and the striker could be the recently linked little French striker Kevin Gameiro. Any of the Ligue 1 followers here care to comment on how good he is? Has there been any itk on him?

Buying players out of contracts is not just about paying them the wages they would have earned if they had stayed with their club.

That was only in the Webster case, which has been overruled many times by the court of Arbitration for Sport, who now say that a club (in this case chelsea) would have to be compensated for the actual loss they suffer as a reuslt of a player unilaterally tetrminating his contract - this compensation is likely to include the replacement value.

Chelsea don't need to let us "Buy him out"; the last two years of his contract thing doesn't work in this situation as its a one year extension deal and pretty much every club in the world have a gentlemans agreement not to use that rule

What about Benzema? If Real Madrid sign Adebayor, we could get Benzema on loan for the season. Could he be the French player we're after?

what a beautiful sight when you log onto the mighty SC after being away for 3 days, and see such confident and mostly consistent ITK.

So Fabinano in and we're possibly after a cut price Lassanda Diarra.

Apart from Fabiano, I'd imagine the rest of our signings depend on us giving the Young Boys a good humping up the lane on Wednesday evening, and as such, entering the competition proper with the big boys....

Gallas and maybe Diarra and Benzema at our club (although it would be great as both are exceptionally talented) we will have fans singing "are you arsenal in disguise" to us

BBC Gossipm page has him linked to Wham this morning....apparently they have put ina bid for him.
