Was listening to it on the radio and according to their commentators Crouch didn't win a header against their central defenders.

I am very proud anyway, apart from a bad spell in the middle of the first half we were the better team and we forced them to defend for their lives. With a little bit of luck or a world class striker, or Vidic not being the beast of a defender he is, we would have won it.

If we win against the lesser teams and keep getting points from the top teams, this season will ultimately be a very successful one.

What was the commentator smoking by the way? BAE beats Rafael, Rafael takes him down, the clearest cynical foul you'll ever see and somehow that adds ups to: "Very harsh, sometimes the refs just don't understand the game..."

I think this shows just how far we have come. It was Man Utd's best team vs (arguably) our best team and we completely out played them. I agree we could do with a top quality striker but, at the moment, so could Utd, Chelsea and The Scum. City are the only team with a top class striker atm.

Rooney
Drogba
Torres
VPussy
arguably Carroll

even santa clauz would probably be an improvement on Crouch

The main reason we didn't score today wasn't Harry or crouch, it was because Man Utd have an absolutely rock solid defense

I respectfully disagree. We had several scoring chances that a proper striker could have hit home. Crouch was mostly shit, and if we ever use him it should be as a second striker in a 4-4-2, not as the lone man up front against one of the best teams in the world.

The analogy I would use for Crouch is that if I were a salesman and I never made a sale, then I'd expect the sack. If I were a Premiership striker and I failed to score more than 1 goal in 22 attempts then I would expect to be shot, dropped and sold.

He a fucking waste of a shirt.

Well the odds certainly were in our favour numerically but tbh I'm not sure I can recall VDS making any particular save of note. We won the midfield battle even with 11 men each and had the possession advantage but even though we can point to a lack of cutting edge from our point of view, you have to say it was more fantastic team defending for United with the obvious Vidic being superb (although we should have had a penalty from him).

It was frustrating not to take advantage however and doesn't particularly help our title bid but on the plus side we completely restricted United to shots outside the box and made the likes of Nani, Berbatov and Rooney look fairly pedestrian so a lot of credit has to be placed at our defensive back 5.

End of the day it will perhaps feel like an opportunity missed but it once again proves we can mix with the best of them and play football as good as any other Premiership side. We won't fade away like Spurs of old - this team has the credentials to be in the mix right until the end. Keep the faith boys!

i think everyone is disappointed with the result. Crouch had a major opportunity and VDV missed by a whisker but United are so good defensively, as they give you very little time and space.

On a plus side we are all gutted with a 0-0 draw against United, it just shows you how far we have come.

We came out of the blocks looking awesome, then Crouch missed that sitter after 10 mins and we never really looked like scoring after that

The problem with Crouch is that he has scored only one goal in the League this season, and he rarely looks like scoring. Today he missed out best chance.
I really do not know why Harry started with him today, he never gets anywhere with Vidic and Ferdinand and today was just another example of this. Well though we are doing, Harry still makes some strange team selections when we play against the other top teams.

good analogy:)

I'll never forget that goal at city away but he clearly just isnt good enough, team was fantastic all we seem to be missing is a proper striker

We had half chances. Against any other side we would have scored at least once.

The problem Harry has, he takes off one useless striker and has to bring on another, must be a fucking nightmare for him.

Why would Arry play Crouch against two of the best center backs in the league when he is so weak in the air and they so strong? Because he is clueless. What was the point of letting Defoe on for Palacios when we kept hoofing the ball towards Crouch he kept not winning it? There was not. Arry just hoped that one of those long balls might bounce off and Defoe might be around to poke it in. That is not how attacking football should be played. Attacking football should be played with creativity, innovation, flavor, etc. I saw nothing of this today in our game, just nonstop crosses and long balls - pathetic. And it has been like it for a while now. We have these excellent players and all we do is play this boring shit.

I watched Everton earlier and their passing and movement is so much better than ours, they outplayed the Losers on their own turf, and this with them not having any starts in their team.

Crouch didn't play that badly btw[/B], and Harry made us outplay Man U.

On a side not, Modric was fantastic. Unbelievable. Best non-scoring performance I've seen from any player in the world this season.

Crouch was awful mate. It's pure frustrating watching him. 1 league goal this season? And 9 in 58 total league games? Not good enough.

Exactly, how the fuck we didn't wallop them 5-0 i will never know.

And Everton are in such a false position its untrue.

How the hell we had 60% possession when all we did was launch it to crouch, somethings wrong there.
