This crossed my mind and it would really fit in with that the ITK's are saying about other moves elsewhere having to slot into place in order for our options to become available.

except that they wouldnt have any striker allowed to play in the CL. Maybe im wrong though and there are some rules to register new players.

Just got a funny feeling about Suarez. I think Levy has an offer ready just below what Ajax want, but higher than Liverpool have bid so far. I think he's letting Ajax sweat on him until the deadline.

Me too. I could be way off but I've got the feeling we haven't heard the end of Suarez coming to Spurs. Here's hoping anyway.

Who is this world class striker than?

Suarez. I understand the notion that he is not the 1 up top striker that we and Harry all crave but if he's the best we can get in January, I dont understand why we dont get him.

We have obviously been watching him for a while. He has a great scoring record, runs his bollocks off and I am sure he could do a job up front on his own.

It's not like we've been scared of spending money before. Bentley £15 mil when we already had england first choice right winger on the books. There is more of a need now for a striker that can put the ball in the onion bag than there was for bentley when we signed him. Suarez is 23. Might lose a couple of mil is he flops bigtime but surely thats worth the risk?

We're probably just waiting for other teams to make a move first. If Chelsea get Torres then we could move late for Anelka. If Ajax get another striker and get fed up of Liverpool, then we could get Suarez. If Real Madrid sign another striker, then we could get Benzema. etc etc.

Daniel Levy really does love deadline day. He can squeeze every last penny out of a deal and get himself another Van Der Vaart bargain.

I'm not sure deadline day is going to be the time for bargains. It requires the club we are buying from to be more desperate to sell than we are to buy and I really cannot see that.

They have destoyed the market because just at a time when clubs were starting to tighten their belts and attempt to bring wages back down to a realistic level City came along and fucked things up for everyone, raising the going price for top class players to a level unprecedented in the history of modern football.

I see what your saying but footballers and agents arent that stupid, not every player is wanted by man city and therefore they are out on their own. Their is no reason why we cannot compete with the likes of Liverpool, aresenal for example....the bigger issue for me here is why we have left this until the last minute again

Lets not get our hope about Levy pulling another VDV out on deadline day. To me it seems we gonna stick with the same player until the summer. On another note I hope Chelsea dont get Torres.

At the end of the day 4 days before the window shuts we are still lacking a striker and in addtion to the points allready dropped could see us go out of the FA cup tomorrow.

 Yeah and if we lose every game between now and the end of the season we'll get relegated, and Harry could have a heart attack, and we could all die from getting hit by a comet strike, Jesus lighten up

My gut feeling is we have balls'd up this window too.

If ITK is to be believed then we have had quite a scatter gun approach by not
making a clear defined target.

Lets be honest VDV bought Arry/Levy sometime in not addressing our situation.

It wouldn't be a problem if we played like Barca and won 5-0 every match with our wingers and midfield all scoring.
Lennon cant chip in with 15+ a season, neither can Bale (even though he's giving it a good go)
VDV is in double figures, but he cant be setting them up and scoring them himself.
We DO NEED a 25+ striker and we have done since we sold Berba and Keane.

Yes Defoe,Pav,Crouch,Keane were good enough to get us 4th but they are not good enough to cement us 4th.

In matches when we need to be clinical we are severely lacking.....

v Man U
v Chelsea
v Wigan
v Man C

All games where we could have won with a bit more cutting edge.

I really hope the quotes in the press about our strike force 'being ok' are just words for the press and Arry knows we need to get the striker we all crave.

If we dont its going to be a frustrating remainder of the season!
