I would be looking at keeping Crouch, moving on the other 3, and bringing 2 in. Crouch is never going to get the goals we need over a season but as well us giving us "that option" I think he's proved his worth in Europe, has formed a solid partnership with VdV, and always works hard for the team.

Of the 2 we bring in, at least one of them needs to be that all round 'lead the line' centre forward. Llorente? Hulk? I've only seen bits and bobs of them but they look the most obvious and gettable options at the moment.

I would be fine with the second signing being of the shorter variety, as long as they're a more versatile player than Defoe. Perhaps someone who's able to play on the wing in a 4-3-3 to give us that option. Certainly someone who can provide assists and contribute in the way that VdV does. Suarez would've been ideal of course, but ho hum. We apparantly went in for Aguero with about 45 seconds of the transfer window left, if we're actually at all serious maybe we'll make an early offer in the summer. Unlikely, but worth a stab.

What is fairly certain though is that Harry is going to have to take a bit of a big money risk on preferably two players from abroad, which he doesn't seem keen on doing. Any of these strikers are going to cost in the region of £20-35m, and if we sell Pav, Keane and Defoe we're probably only going to get £25m, maybe £30m max back. If he's planning on leaving next summer for England though, maybe he'll throw caution to the wind a bit and give it a go.

Kun Aguerro! if we signed this chap IMO we would come very close to winning the EPL!

He is Quick, Strong and skillful, He can shoot and his goals per game record is impressive. lacks hight but that will allow us to play football and keep the ball on the deck.

Would cost at least 35m, lose Pav and Keano and bring him in! Wages will be an issue.

For me Benzema is such a lazy player and it really puts me off him.

It really shouldn't... See Berbs circa 06/07. In fact I'd bloody love the massively "lazy" strike partnership of Benzema and Berbs. Sorry Mr Hansen, we don't need a good engine because we were born to be amazing. Stick your Kuyts, Rooneys, Fletchers and Haargreves's try hard muppets up your arse and watch us play the beautiful game beautifully.

I would imagine that we would break our structure for Aguerro. As an investment he would probably be worth it and i'm sure they could make a good case for him having higher wages than the rest of the squad.

Realistically we are going to be in the Europa next season unless we win the CL so this will undoubtedly affect the level of player that might think about coming to us as all the quality ones will want CL unless they get offered City wages

It kills me to see Berbatov on the bench at Utd when he could be down here making me explode in my pants.

Berbatov is the kind of player we might even be able to sign too. Utd will doubtless want to do business with us as we can right off a portion of the debt they owe us and presumably they'll pay less VAT as a result.

Also with the mexican lad doing so well and Rooney coming back to form he might be available.

If he is I'd take him like a shot. Even if he's a bit of a c***!

Berba would be decent value at 20 million. He will carry on playing in exactly the same way for ages. The physical deteriation which happens when you pass 30 won't affect his game a bit he'll be like a classier version of Sheringham. I want.

I have made a big decision, I am in future going to run every single opinion of mine by you before posting to see if it meets with your approval and if it does not then I will gracefully apologise and bow to your superior knowledge :roll: /sarcastic

Not really the type of forward we desperately need, but I think Gervinho has huge potential.

Why not Gervinho?

As I see it none of our strikers is irreplaceable. Dare I say it but I would be quite happy to lose 3 of them over the summer...

I think you've got to keep Crouch - he's flawed but he's effective in europe and well, different to anything else out there.

how about cristian rodriguez and ashley young? not strikers, but keep enough 1st squad wingers available to deal with injuries so the strikers on the books get constant service.

We should look at a powerhouse or someone good in the air. Someone like Llorente or Hulk would be great.

I also think we should take a look at Loic Remy.

Depending on how much we want to spend we could look at Lukaku or Elmander.

Selling Defoe, Crouch, Pav, Keane, Bentley, Dos Santos and O'Hara could get us around £50m and cover most of the costs.
