Unsurprising that a lot of people are going for flavour of the month Villa-Boas. Don't think he would be interested in us for a second though. He will go after a season of CL with Porto to someone like Inter or Chelsea (When they do their annual sack the manager schtick.)

I'd like to see Klinsmann in all honesty, he's been reasonably successful with everything he's done, either way we just have to trust Levy to make the right choice should Harry decide to leave.

(pretty suprised no ones mentioned BMJ, is there something that I've missed??)

I thought about putting him in the poll, but it is totally unrealistic, he and Levy have burned their bridges, there will be no going back.

No chance he would even be considered by Levy plus he didn't exactly cover himself in glory in Germany and at Ajax after leaving us.

I was thinking more along the lines of him being mentioned by other members due to his 'hero worship status', thats all.

He wasn't given time or money, given more time and the sort of money Kenny was given I think he would have done decent job.

Thats because it was quickly apparently the man was out of his depth at a club with pressure, he has found his level with the likes of fulham and west brom, nothing wrong with that but any arguments to defend him are ridiculous.

I think Ancelotti would be our best option, and also most likely. However I've voted for Klinsmann because he's the only appointment from the options that I could imagine getting excited about. Anybody else and it will just feel like we've appointed whoever we could to fill an unwelcome vacancy (which for most of us is, I think, exactly what it will be).

As for the notion of Hughes or Hodgson, Hodgson has never done it with a team whose ambitions lay at the top end of the table (Inter being the possible exception and even they sacked him).

And Hughes has not done 'brilliantly' for Fulham as someone suggested. They had a bad forst half of the season and their top 8 finish came simple because they ended the season in better form than the rest of the mid-table dross in this year's Premiership. Apart from 1 season with Blackburn (05-06) he has never achieved any notable consistency from his club teams. In short, no thanks messers Hodgson and Hughes.

Decent list, Deschamps is a great shout actually, I'd him on the list with villas boas for the potential he represents, Ancellotti and Benitez, the last two for their experience of managing in the prem and top class european football if you want to be humiliated in europe then go for Moyes if you don't want to ever get back in europe again then go for Hodgson.

I think Klinsmann knows his own limitations as a coach.

He's brilliant at the strategic stuff though, so maybe as a DoF and then let him pick his own coach (basically like he did with Low for Germany, albeit he was officially his assistant there).

I think people have to be realistic in their expectations - AVB and Mourinho are no-go's as far as i'm concerned so the next logical choice would be Ancelotti.

Depending on which route Daniel Levy wishes to go down I would rank the following catergories as such;

Top European manager - Carlo Ancelotti
Top British manager - David Moyes
Top up-and-coming manager - Roberto Martinez

I can't imagine why - when other clubs wish to do that sort of thing they place the manager on 'gardening leave' rather than sack them. In any case, I'm pretty sure from a legal perspective once you sack a person anything like that goes out of the window as the contract has been terminated by the employer.
