What's Jacques Santini up to these days?! Perhaps we could bring him in along with David Pleat as his assistant with Avram Grant as DOF to create the most miserable managerial set up ever!

Surely it should be about whom you wish to take over should/when Harry leaves... to that end, for me it's Mourinho, doesn't matter that it's unrealistic or just unlikely, that is besides the point.

R.

I went for reality as opposed to fantasy

Jose would be my ultimate choice but it won't happen least this year anyway and Villas Boas would have been my next choice but again he is unrealistic.

Carlo for me; he's won everything.

For all those suggesting Martinez and Coyle; do you really think Modric, VDV et al would stay playing under someone like that? I think that would show a complete lack of ambition and Levy wouldn't even consider them for a second!

Carlo easily.

I think its too early to judge Villas Boas.

There is no competition for him in Portugal so his trophies are almost meaningless. The unbeaten run all season is impressive, until you consider who Porto play against. A decent league 1 side could possibly survive in the Portuguese 1st division. Most teams are probably championship level.

Thats not to say he wont be successful in the future, but up to now he is just another Walter Smith.

Carlo has won everything there is to win. Many times over. Villas Boas is still only potential.

Absolutely THIS. Some of the Managerial names mentioned are just shocking.

I am not saying that the likes of Coyle or Martinez are bad, but they are not names that shout ambition or help lure potential star players who might otherwise shun us due to wage structure.

We can't compete with wages, but if we somehow lured say Ancelotti or Mourinho, then you have players who WANT to play for you regardless, because you have someone at the helm who is all about winning.

Coyle, Martinez etc need more time to "mature".

I can understand why people are sceptical about Martinez but I honestly think he's one of the best up and coming managers around and knows the EPL as well as the lower leagues. Speaks very good english too. His Swansea team played very good football and he's doing a decent job at a poor EPL club.

I think that AVB and Mourinho are realistically not coming Valdano has been sacked by Madrid giving Mourinho the power he wanted. AVB has gone the season unbeaten and has already said he's staying.

I like Ancelotti and wouldn't be against him coming, but I want someone hungry to come and lay the foundations at the club from the youth team up with a philosophy. A bit like how Wenger has done at Arsenal. I really don't see Ancelotti doing this. At Milan and Chelsea he was never really responsible for player recruitment and just had players thrown at him.

I don't think Klinnsman is really interested in club football over here. Isn't he comfy living in Cali?

I think Moyes is a good shout, has a good record on a limited budget and would enjoy having a bit extra to spend. He's got a very good record bringing the youngsters through at Everton and despite what some people think they do play a decent brand of passing football imo and can also mix it up. He's also got a good eye for buying quality players that are not household names. This is something which is key if we're going to continue trying to crack the top 4 over the next few years.

I concur wholeheartedly!

I went for Villas-Boas but would be happy with Klinsmann, Mourinho or Hiddink as well. The problem is I don't think any of them would come.

.

Ancelotti is 51, no older really than Wenger was when he took over at scum so there is no reason at all why Ancelotti could not stay 10 years and build really strong foundations at the club, despite his grey hair he is a youngish man plus when Harry goes this summer or next I am sure Levy will restore the DOF system.

As for Martinez he has promise but no way should he be trusted with the responsibility of taking over as Spurs manager, he has no knowledge or experience of even mid table EPL let alone fighting at the sharp end, it would be like a promising Apple store manager taking over from Steve Jobs. I would have no objection to Martinez as an assistant with a view to taking over in a few years time but no way now

I really like Martinez, his coaching and his ideas.

He hasn't been the best when it comes to transfers though. All his best players were signed by Steve Bruce.

I think you have to take a lot of risks at a club like Wigan, he got unlucky with that striker Boselli, top scorer in the Argie league, just didn't work out.
