Anyone else feel like we've secured a minor victory today over the teams like Chelsea and City who believe they can buy anyone whenever they like?

Turning point in world football, maybe.

See what you did there?

I like

Just heard on ssn from ally mcoist that he is talking to Harry about 2 of our players. Is this new or do we know who he's referring to?

McCoist hasn't spoken to Harry yet. Harry has spoken to the new Rangers chairman about a couple of loans, naming the players that shaqTHFC says

The player we should be going for is Casemiro of Sao Paulo. Wonderful talent.

yes thats true but getting young stand out players from brazil is even worse than trying to buy world class strikers - we have to join a long queue... for me i wud love gangso but its not going to happen.. i firmly believe a centre midfield player will joing us in next month and it will be either diarra / parker / sissoko

lets not go overboard here.. we have managed to keep a top player thats all and only victory im interested in is been ahead of chelsea and city at end of season. end of.

exactly... its not the first time a club has managed to keep hold of a player when a bigger team has turned up... man utd managed to hold onto CR7 for a while until he finally got his way to go to madrid and the same with Fabregas....

The 1:05 update for those who don't want to go through 54 pages....

No he doesn't.

He says "Ali moguce je sve?" (But anything is possible?)

Maybe it sounds a bit like "Chelsea" (the ending sounds like "cheh-yeh-sveh") but still NO. :hello:

Not sure if people have seen it in the twitter thread but footballagent9 has said we've signed Leandro (I think) and RobinBKK has said that footballagent9 is 'the real deal'.

he is the real deal

Would someone (dinomp?) mind writing up a short explanation which we could put as a story on newsnow, including what Sky are reporting and why it's wrong.

Sky Broadband is shit by the way, their ADSL sucks balls so hard.

Been at Holly House since Midday finally left at 3 , did I see anyone? Did I bollocks.

Everyone else been asked to leave.
One 2 One action
Point will be made
A happy outcome will follow

One thing (possibly) of note.

Modric was accompanied to London by Corluka and Mario Mamic (Luka's agent/adviser/friend and the son of Dinamo Zagreb's Zdravko Mamic).

Levy on SSN Luka understands the situation - he wont be sold. Not about money we wont be selling our best players :0)

i've been at the lane all day, the sky sports lads were there when i got there at 7.30 and still there when i left at 4. there camping out and it driving everyone mad! and levys office is at the lane!

7:55

Update:
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reiterates to Sky Sports News that Luka Modric will not be sold after holding talks with the midfielder. Full story to follow.

Just saw the interview again. How awesome would it have been if, when asked 'what would happen if Chelsea came in with a bigger bid', he replied 'they can fuck off' and just drove out the gates.

interesting that luka`s agent left 20 minutes after luka...

pay rise me thinks?

Luka's agent left 20 minutes later because Levy bent him over his desk and pummelled his ringpiece without lube as punishment for letting things get this far. I'm about 60 metres away from his office and I still heard the sound of arsecheeks being bitchslapped with a squeaky voice saying 'I'm the daddy, one more quote from you about Modders leaving and next time I'm going in with the 19 inch megadildo'.

Rumor has it that Woodgate is about to sign for Brighton.

I know the Disconosebleed personally.

If he has said that Woodgate has been at Brighton he is 100% correct.

I'm genuinely with you on that. I really am, there is a BIG sign of intent coming

I know it.

I've heard (not from my usual person, but someone I'm fairly confident in nevertheless) that Chelsea have serious intent to buy Joao Moutinho. Came as a bit of a surprise for me, because he was linked with Everton a couple of years back but since then I thought his career had stalled a bit??? But doesn't he play basically the same role as Modric would, or is he more of a replacement for Lampard?

If you note my ITK from a few days ago you'll see a lot now that has passed including DL's pov

There's will's and ways. The next few months for this club will make or break it's stance for many years to come, on and off the field. New contracts, new players, some great and some just needed, the ground and councils backing.

It's all happening and happening as wanted by DL.

i see diarra is back on the back pages of mirror saying madrid want us to do business with them. wud be very good signing. good solid player. more strnegth in middle of field. it will be wither him or parker for me. but i wud have loved younger option in sissokko

Just heard on ssn from ally mcoist that he is talking to Harry about 2 of our players. Is this new or do we know who he's referring to?

Livermore and Khumalo

Only on loan, Arry said it on Skysports this week

McCoist hasn't spoken to Harry yet. Harry has spoken to the new Rangers chairman about a couple of loans, naming the players that shaqTHFC says

He did well last season and I think he will do very well at chelsea if he signs, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them sign Sneijder as he is likely to be moved on the wing which he may not like

Also expect Eto'o to leave as rumours are he would be likely to on the wing as Pazzini is expected to play up front on his own, he was not happy to play on the wing under mourinho but did it because it was mourinho

54 pages and only one piece of ITK must be a record Eek

He's nothing like Diarra though, different player. He's more like Jenas than Diarra.
I think Moussa Sissoko would be barely an improvement on Jenas, if at all. He plays as a box to box player in a team that plays a kind of 4141 almost revolving diamond formation.

Etiene Capoue is the player I'd take from toulouse if we could.

Cant undestand that logic BC. Its bigger than Luca Modric, all this is much bigger. He signed a 6 year contract not long ago for God sake.

A miracle for next season? We might as well pack up and go home. If we keep this squad intact and manage to get in a bloody good forward or two, we could be in a title chase and we'll definitely be in the mix for the Champions league spots again - with not having the distration, and excitement, of playing in it again this time round.

We have an excellent chance of getting top 4 again if we keep this team together and address up top where it needs improving significantly.

I think there is no simple "logic" in this situation. Yes we send a message, but the world isn't stupid, we all know Modric will be off sooner or later and in the mean time everyone also knows we are forcing a player to play for us who has publicly stated he wants to leave. Every less than brilliant performance from here on in is going to be judged accordingly and eventually the headline will be "finally Modric gets his move".

I don't buy this selling club bullshit just because once every three or four years we are forced to sell a world class player, so, as much as I hate to see him go, I understand where we are in the food chain.

As for next season, I think you're deluding yourself. Our defence worries me almost as much as our attack, and don't even get me started on the coaching and tactics. No matter what anyone says about our strikers, no one is telling me that VDV, Crouch, Pav and Defoe weren't good enough for us to beat West Ham, Wigan, West Brom, Everton, Blackpool, Sunderland home etc.

Just watched the Levy interview and to be honest I am not really happy with our chairmans attitude throughout it.
It looks like he just bitch slapped Modric and told him he was forcing him to stay against his will but he will get over it in a couple of days.
He should have acted totally different.

He now plays as a CB.
