Hoofharted got one thing right four summers ago because he knows Darren Bents family, but not sure he gets to go in the RO anymore.

Has HoofHarted got a good rep? I've not seen any itk from him before.

He had a link with Darren Bent. Since then, it has been vague posts, such as today's (and as Bill said, a great use of smiley from A&C for the 'guffman').

He used to have a good reputation (not sure why, seemed poor from my record) and was ill/had things going on personally so he was quiet for a while. He knew Bent some way or another so he knew everything going on with him.

HoofHarted on COYS:
2 strikers both have been mentioned before, not blue and yellow as far as I can make out, and a Central defender, and from what I understand we have been looking for cover at both full backs, but nothing on the radar.

POTL on COYS re Khumalo...

Medical at Reading this afternoon. Will be a Reading player by the end of the day.
One year deal- no option to buy at the end of it.
Purely for experience- with the hope he comes back to us for next season ready to compete.
Let the fun begin- merry-go-round has started at WHL.

I believe that we will sign players...and they will upgrade the squad:up:

It is a fair point to bring up the Goons in relation to a year's experience.
But for all his gifts (washes out mouth) Whinger has certain flaws in his character.
Firstly, he has never actually shown any signs of learning exactly what it takes to cut it in the EPL in the defensive department. He had his most successful period with the 'Keeper and central defenders he inherited when he first took the job. As those players retired so the trophies dried up. I really don't think Redknapp has that problem at all.

Secondly, a lot of our progress is contingent on keeping our best players. The Goons have struggled to keep hold of theirs as they mature. Redknapp has identified the need to get some experienced players amongst our youngsters. So, between keeping our best payers, who are getting more experienced, and bringing in some more experience, I don't think we will be in the same boat as the Goons.

And, I repeat, we will strengthen anyway.

Totally agree, also can't help but feel that Bale will have a very good season. Always seem to remember Ronaldo having a good season where he finally showed what he's capable of, followed by a couple of immense seasons.

Not saying that he's suddenly going to become Ronaldo, but with a number of very good youngsters with huge potential, it's not unrealistic to say that one of them could suddenly realise it whilst at the club.

A shiny new striker would be nice though!

Why is Forlan, a Copa winner and the best player at last years World Cup not a marquee signing?

And don't tell me it's because he is the wrong side of 30.

He wouldn't fit as a "marquee" signing because he wouldn't cost us £35m. I think thats what people here and in the media get obsessed with - the money. I personally would love Forlan, especially on a free as has been suggested eslewhere. But when we are linked with Aguero, Benzema, even Adebayor and Rossi to a point - I just can't see those "marquee" signinigs coming off.

Surprised to be looking for cover at both full backs? Maybe left but what's wrong with Corluka and Walker?

Hopefully he gets to shine in the Championship and stays injury free - it would also be a bonus if Reading continued their good form and were still pushing for promotion too.

Has HoofHarted got a good rep? I've not seen any itk from him before.

He's Darren Bent's mate, so was spot on about his transfer incoming and outgoing transfer. Everything else he's ever posted I've always found unconvincing shall we say.

Not RO worthy IMO.

Forlan would be superb, especially at a lower price. And he's achieveable. His last year at Atletico had a lot of problems off the pitch to contribute to the ones off it.

Adebayor, Vucinic and Cahill?
