‘We have to show him our ambition, which we will do. If we can add one or two good players to our squad there’s no reason we can’t have another great season.

Tottenham could be a great club for him to stay with for the next few years. That’s what we’re hoping for.

18 days to show our amibition, less if we want a settled addition, replace him with them for any of our star players.

Couldn't agree more. We have come this far GRADUALLY with clever buys like Modric, Bale & VDV I can't see Levy wanting to throw away the success of the last two seasons. I'm sure he has something uo his sleeve to delight us all and generate may 100's of pages of ITK.

Shoot me down if you must, but on a forum (hardly reliable I know) some guy has posted this.
"Inside source claims (he who should not be named, 'M') is at the training ground, but is not in his training gear, and is shaking hands with players and staff"

Sounds a load of shit to me, but thought Id post it

If you lot don't show any ambition how do you expect the club to?

Yes, we're well run and we have been for a long time. Fact is we need to spend NOW or our budgeting will get tighter and tighter as we slip further down the table and our best players leave.

You are really starting to piss me off. How do you know we aren't trying to spend the money? All the itk, no matter how different, certainly suggests we are trying. Do you know who our targets are and what they think about a move to Spurs? Do you know what, if any, bids we have made and how these bids have been financially structured? Do you know what Levy and Harry are planning?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions then I would appreciate it if you could share your itk.

If no too all of the above then at the very least take your moronic ramblings out of the daily itk thread and over to Spurs Chat with the rest of the doom mongers and naysayers!

I've just realised it's the school holidays isn't it.

Cmon Levy knows what he's doing. We have a load of dross that needs clearing out, but he will produce.

Oh my god no ITK and look how many pages of people threting

Which isn't surprising since we've had approx 270 ITK updates and only an old man and a couple of kids to show for it :( (not bashing, just stating a fact).

Has anyone actually been checking for ITK today? Haven't seen many of our normal COYS and FTL checkers online today.

Hasn't been anything worth discussing since Sunday evening.

Well then surely nothing should be getting posted?

I reckon the mods should lock the thread until ITK comes about, it can't be doing the server any good, and it'll probably crash when we do get info.

One of the best 8 teams in Europe last season with a strikeforce that couldn't score for toffee, fact is last season with a couple of goalscorers racking them up and we'd have been right in the mix. YOU want stability and 9th place finishes or the club to show a bit of ambition and get back into the Champions Leage?

I would love success but not in the way Leeds went for it for example. I want us to build the foundations for sustaines success in the way the likes of Man Utd have achieved.

We weren't one of the best 8 teams in Europe either. We only played 6 teams and it is a knockout competition so the only team that have a position at the end is Barca (they beat the winners of all the winners etc). We were 5th in England, soundly beaten by the 2nd best in Spain, but for one player would have been humiliated in Italy etc etc. Don't get me wrong we did amazing things last season and possibly another striker could have pushed us up further but it didn't happen and we'll never know how we would have done against Bayern or other teams we never faced.

And for all those who say we blew our chance to sign someone when we had CL, sorry that is BS. Players - or more their agents - would have been able to see that we qualified but we were not going to be nailed on regulars. Look at Everton, they did it one year. We are in a country where currently Man Utd and Chelsea are always at the top. Arsenal are pretty much in the fight for most of the season, Man City were always going to keep buying until they got in the top 2 or 3 and Liverpool were always going to become competitive again due to their history attracting players and the US dollars. All players would have seen that and therefore would not have suddenly shouted "I want to play for Spurs, they are a CL team now".

There are only two questions that matter in my mind.

1. Can we finish in the top four this upcoming season without adding a quality signing or two up-front?

2. If we do not finish in the top four, can we retain our top players, namely Modric, Bale, and Van der Vaart?

And these questions can be answered by creating a thread in Spurs Chat.

I dont mind us gambling but how many of the hordes of doom mongers on here would be happy if highly coveted Mr. Vucinic turns into another Helder Postiga or Guisseppe Rossi morphs into another Sergei Rebrov.....

The loss on Rebrov was more than obscene in itself!!!

Bet Postiga and Rebrov looked fucking amazing on You Tube at the time as well!

I hear ya, but I would say, having watched Mr Vucinic on several occassions, he is a top top player for sure, and he seems like a triffic lad...Seriously though, Vucinic is quality imo.

Exactly...and I picked out the last line of the post for a reason, the 30m offers were absolute bullshit, are you telling me that we bid for those players without knowing if they were interested or not? We knew we had no chance of signing them.

Back to Conspiracy Theory Central, I see:roll:

The very real fear tho is that this squads power is not sustainable. Our high-end players will be poached or flat out ask for a transfer if they don't see CL again soon. Realistically, and based on recent transfer trends, I expect Modric, Bale and VDV to all be gone next summer. That's a lot of £££ coming in, but will it be spent and on what type of player.

Nothing I can do as a fan but sit here and watch it unfold, for better or worse.

I wish I had your faith:roll:
Actually, I don't and I'm glad...I'll throw in the fight when we are 4 points behind fourth with one game to go, as it is, the transfer window hasn't even closed:roll:

Blimey .... think there are a good couple of dozen on here this morning who could do with buying a larger size underpants, they are getting a bit tetchy ......

Why dont we just borrow £200 million and blow it on a load of players and their wages? Leeds did it and they got to the champions league semis (as i recall)... admittedly they have had a bit of a blip afterwards but im sure their fans were happy to forgive that for their ONE season in the sun.....

We have had a season in the sun and, whats more, we didnt sell Auntie Marjories jewellry to get it.... In the Prem it wasn't the white knuckle rollercoaster ride we all hoped for but hell fire....We punched so far above our weight last year in the CL didnt we? Didnt that feel good that we are/were everybodys 2nd favourite team....

If we get a big new striker GREAT.... if we dont So fucking what!! Man City will still detest playing against us with crouch, defoe and pav up front, cos for all the Gazillions they have spent we are a far better team than they are.....you only need to look through the last 4 games between us... Arsenal .... they are in the same predicament we are and see above....3 outta the last 4 PL games who has triumphed? ... Chelsea ..... Not come close to playing us off the park .... Liverpool?? well their big name 30 odd million striker was in ledleys pocket (not that there is any shame in that for AC - better players have been as well!)....

I Repeat .. big name striker = A Nice addition (Essential???? Not necessarily)

I have a major amount of faith in Levy that in 10 years time spurs will still be in and around ..... long after 'the new money' has vanished leaving struggling (or even busted) clubs...

:eek:mg::eek:mg::eek:mg:
:clap::clap::clap:
How was it we managed to be mixing it with and beating massive clubs last season. Was it our chairman's lack of ambition that got us to that position ?

Was it his lack of ambition that signed Luka Modric for 16m or Gareth Bale for 10m before he'd ever kicked an EPL ball, surely it must have been a lack of ambition that drove him to negotiate with Real Madrid for one of the best players in europe ? Was it his ambivalence to success that has seen him spend about 100m in the last three years ?

It's a toughie, take your time....

I say we sack the unabitious so-and-so and get Peter Risdale in...now, he'll spend some serious wongaEek

I have posted this in the appropriate forum but it is awaiting moderation.

Villa have booked BMI Medical Centre for Wednesday. N’Zogbia expected but they have booked it all day which suggests others will take place. Also have conference room booked at Belfry to entertain guests.
Hutton, Jenas and Crouch definitely wanted. Combined bid is only just over £15million. Bid has not been accepted, negotiations ongoing, but permission given to speak to players. Worried Jenas will be the most unwilling, so will offer him a shorter contract.

I still stick by German based players; Huntelaar, Farfan and German Based Defender/Full Back (name unknown) It’s not Dortmund one; be realistic; Chelsea are in for him. But deals will be done.

BUT confirmed deals being worked on now are from the Spanish league.
·

As I said in my original post; Afellay was originally thought of as a loan deal. But that was before interest was ever made public. Barcelona will listen to offers.

· Lassana Diarra; definitely trying to do a deal. I had heard this as rumour before but now I have it confirmed. Levy negotiating a good deal for both teams. Rumour on price is £10-12million plus add-ons. I don’t know if any of the other sources have mentioned this before, I can’t see it on the “ITK” forum page. Madrid NEVER paid the reported press price so wont be taking a hit.

Rumour; Contact from Spain for Defoe. No bids etc. just contact and just a rumour.
