I'd bite their hands off for 15 million+ 5 more if they all play 50 games for the club. if it's true that Hutton is in his last year, even more so.

RE Journo:£15 for Crouch JJ and Hutton seems a liitle cheap for Levy i would think. Hutton is in last year of contract so probably no more than 2 or 3 million, Crouch i think is still worth about 8 or 9 to some teams and JJ would easily be worth 7 or 8 for a team like villa so a combined bid of 18 to 20 million would be about fair and great for us in terms of freeing up the roster - it would take 3 home growns out of the squad though. IF the Afallay info is good then great (i do feel Barca may do a Bojan deal with a cheap initial price and additional complications etc but that isn't a bad thing). Diarra would be a good replacement for Wilson if the numbers add up in terms of fee and wages. I think Wilsons dodgy knee and lack of form means we are probably best getting shot IF someone is interested. Not unconvinced Huntelaar could do a job for us - with regular starts i feel he will score but does he fit the system or is he too Lineker when we need a Shearer? Farfan i'm not sold on, would rather Marin or N'Zogbia for the money quoted - could suggest we are looking to offload Lennon. As for the german defender??? without knowing who the poster is suggesting then who knows. If they are 24-26 and international class then yes, if not i don't see them being an improvement.

Glad to see POTL trying to raise the spirits, obviously seen the depression on here today and wanted to give followers hope. Thanks POTL.

Agree with all that. I would take KJH if nothing else bears fruit but I'm hoping we get a more suitable type, and Farfan doesn't interest me really.

Afellay is very exciting though, very talaneted player IMO. Diarra makes sense if the figures stack up - pleased about that.

So Diarra, Afellay and an upgrade striker wise and I would be delighted.

You would have thought that if Villa have been given permission to talk to Hutton, Crouch and Jenas then we can't be too far apart on the fee?
Which cryptic pointed to Affelay? Didn't see any posts on that.

I have not moved on from Germany to Spain. The German deals are very much on BUT I have been told that interest in the Spanish based pair has meant that Tottenham are now focusing on these two players. They will go back to the German deals.

Regarding the FEE for the three. I agree that £15million would be a very good deal for Villa. BUT by giving permission to speak i would suggest its not far off Tottenhams valuation. Expect it to be offered in installlments but we expect that to be declined.
I would suggest that if Villa offer it in cash it could be close to £15million any high and installments.

I can tell you that Villa can not believe that have agreed to sign Nzogbia for less than £10 million and are on a high. I know that Daniel Levy has a reputation for being a mean Negotiator but the new boys at Villa are no mugs.

Totally believe that mate and the price for Nzogbia is very good albeit he only has a year left on his contract.

Is it feasible that we could hear officially that a bid for said players has been accepted by tomorrow if indeed medicals go ahead...?

£15m and a further £2.5m per player after they reach 30 league games. Would work out to about £7.5m per player, which I think would be a great deal all round.

Villa get three good, but not great, players for a low fee, and pay the extra if the players become first team regulars. We get £15m, plus another £7.5m by the end of the season for three players we don't need, instantly removes another three players from our overloaded squad as well as losing about £150k p/w off the wage bill.

I have NO information on Modric. Opinion of myself and my source is that he WILL go. My source believes this will be the last time you will get a fee of £35-40 million.
That is why Arsenal are willing to sell Fabregas.
My view is that in the end senior players; Van der Vaart especially, will get tired of it.

On a more positive note; it is my sources opinion that Bale could be a Tottenham player for many years. Apparently a real decent normal bloke.

Strange thing to say. We have bought highly rated but unproven players even this window with Coullibaly and Ceballos. We bought the highly rated but unproven players like Kaboul (French U21 captain) and Ekotto, Zokora and spunked good money on highly rated but unproven in our league players like Berbatov and Modric.

As far as VDV goes it was probably buy for 18m and pay all his high wage demand which was a non starter, or pay 8m and get his wages subsidised.

What a terrible deal that was eh ?

Coullibaly and Ceballos are not for the first team, i was talking about buying a striker for the first team, which is a desperately needed addition for us right now.

Kaboul, Ekotto, Zokora, Modric were all purchased years ago now under a different regime where DL was clearly not calling the transfer shots as much as he is at the moment. We have a certain Mr Comolli to thank for those players.

VDV was not a terrible deal, it was an amazing deal, but it came down to being minutes away from falling past the deadline and quite frankly he is a player who would be worth spending the original asking price on to have secured him early. Obviously the preference is to have got him on a good deal, but it was an unnecessary risk IMO and the only one that seems to ha ever paid off for us in recent years.

As for the Journo's ITK - i'm at least glad we're up for bringing in some players and hope that we accept Villa's offer of £15m. It is a decent return on two players who are past heir best and a reasonably accomplished RB who's contract is running down and doesn't improve our team.

It will also let us free up some wages and squad space, which is the most important thing right now.

Personally if i was DL i would threaten to get in on the N'Zogbia deal if Villa don't stump up the cash in those 3 sharpish.

Been in a meeting, has the ghostofarmo (scout) stuff been posted?

Absolutely brilliant news if true. Would leave us to be able to concentrate on strikers rather than thinking about who may have to replace Modders.

Let's hope this one is accurate.
