There are players out there that would sign for spurs, surely we could have found out in January if these players wanted to come and if not move on. I would rather we had some players sewn up rather than hoping for the "big catch". We should be looking for the next berba or falcao etc etc. Players don't need to be 20 to have some potential there are plenty of players kicking around Europe and south america who would do a better job than our lot.

20M for Mata, or 4M for Afellay, both appear to play in positions that I wouldnt say are where we desparately need is a no brainer imo, Afellay all day long, and concentrate on the strikers...

Its like the best time to look for a job is when youve got a job, cos without one its twice as hard.
The best time to get good playes is when they are available, because when we are actually looking to fill a position we cant find the right players and everyone knows we are desperate and the price goes up.
Weve got to get the right players even if the timing is wrong, because if they are quality we can alwys recover our money

LOL at the itk regarding Adebayor. He would struggle to fit in wage bill. No shit Sherlock!!

I can't see why we are so desparate to get rid of players. Our "Deadwood" have all been good players and should be able to do us proud in many non premier league games (which hopefully there will be plenty of) we could easily play 60 games this season.

What about a cheeky bosman lined up on the hush hush? I think I recall someone posting a big list up on players running out of contract a while ago.

Gallas was a fucking brilliant free, as was Friedel....any others on the cards?

We can put in bids all over the place but if the player doesn't want to come it doesn't make a difference. Maybe no one wants to sign for Spurs. If Rossi/Llorente etc said no in January what's going to change their mind now?

Doesn't explain why we were were prepared to pAy 35 mill in January, but now are haggling over 2 or 3 million in the case of vucinic(and leandro apparently).

I think it's clear the bids in January were publicity stunts. Levy knew the bids would be rejected. Pathetic.

I think this is the thing that frustrates me. We need a striker equivalent of Sandro, i.e. someone who isn't a 30m star but who we've scouted thoroughly and who can step up to the plate when required.

The examples I used were Adebayor at Arsenal and Hernandez at United. That's what I want us to be doing. Maybe Leandro is that player for us but even he'd cost over 12m by the sounds of things.

It's oh so quuuuuiiiieeeeeeettttt.

It's going to be really really depressing looking to our current crop of strikers to do what they couldn't last year. Really depressing... Bye bye modders, whatever has been said, you did well and you stayed when you wanted to leave. I won't begrudge you leaving in January.

I always enjoy A&C's jokes but the salad one just killed me, love it!

Why do people care so much about Mata? Doubtless a good player and all but he never seemed to be one of the club's targets.

I'd prefer that Valencia bad boy Soldado who might not be an astronomical price! Only problem is that he's only been there for a year..

I agree. It seems that was our main policy pre-redknapp. Modric and Bale are the obvious names, it just a shame we didnt find a Striker during that era that would either be hitting form right now or playing for Man Yoo :)

Is Rossi the masses #1 choice on here? I mean, I think he's a fantastic footballer, but he's not my first choice

Llorente or Falcao would be my first choice....although getting Rossi would be brilliant as well...basically any of those 3 really :)

I wonder where the 35 million we offered in January for augero and llorente went.

I often wonder this, its like the sack of money has just disappeared....slap £27mil on Llorente now and see what happens instead of waiting until the last day.

I think we can all agree that the transfer policy at this club is a joke. Like Harry said 18 months ago (and nothings changed) we have to move quicker in the Market. Premiums ar put onto values because premium clubs will pay it. It's what divides the clubs in world football. Are we not wanting to be seen as a premium club then?

Yup we're currently very much circling the drain today. Absolutely nothing good is going to happen, we're going to get relegated and frankly we may all as well just go and support Stevenage to save ourselves the pain.

Don't say that they are my hometown team, I should be a stevenage fan but I thought I had a lucky escape that all my family were spurs now it seems I haven't :bang:

Let's do it. Stevenage are the business!

We Are Stevenage! Super Stevenage... we are Stevenage from... wherever we play.
Nah. It just don't work!
They play at brohadwall way but its called the lamex stadium now lol, I like the old traditonal  boing boing boro boro  song

Now that enough stevenage history lesson hope I don't get a ban for this, it is ITK in a way as its where I'm from there

I would not say it is only that though, we've taken the approach of sell first buy later. It is quite clear we need to get some players off our books because we have too many.

Liverpool have done the exact opposite.

The problem it seems like we can't even sell first. Sad times.
