I think we can all agree that the transfer policy at this club is a joke. Like Harry said 18 months ago (and nothings changed) we have to move quicker in the Market. Premiums ar put onto values because premium clubs will pay it. It's what divides the clubs in world football. Are we not wanting to be seen as a premium club then?
I'm sure we do want to be seen as a premium club but unlike The top 3 we don't have endless amounts of cash and unlike Arsenal we don't have the ground to create wage revenue.
In January we fucked up. We had the Champions League money and the Champions Leage prestige. We failed to move and it cost us. That much is true and there should have been a few unhappy people at the club because of it.
Now though we don't have the Champions League money or the prestige. We are also further away than we've been for a while on sorting out the stadium. All of this makes me think that we need to be realistic on our transfer targets and the money we are able to spend. Like it or not the club is a business and if we don't run it sensibly the business, and therefore the club will suffer.
None of this means we can't be successful and that we can't sign good players. But it will take time and we have to be realistic.
