Samba should happen before Everton!
Told that Diarra deal is close but not done and dusted.
Llorente is also a goer
Also told City waiting to try and offload Adebayor rather than loan him to us
Sounds good mate, especially about Llorente.

There is seriously something very worrying with the info we are getting...

surely to God we can dertemine very quickly whether Adebayor's representatives are receptive to negotiating a deal.

Thats what negotiating is, that doesn't get off the ground with what Dragon is saying - if he wont drop his current wages, its crazy, in other words negotiations should never of started if thats the case.

Very quickly to move on to other targets if that was ever accurate.

remember it is ITK, for all we know he is not even a target.

They have 30 at the moment. And they are still chasing Nasri. Bellamy they can loan back to Swansea.

What does a goer mean? That we are bidding for him, or we've sounded him out and he's interested in coming and Balboa will sell?

Offload him to us? Or anyone as long as it's not on loan? Or anyone as long as it's not to us on loan?

Re: Adebayor wages.

Spurs have a wage budget. If we ship a few out, we can offer Adebayor a competitive wage (as in over 70k a week, but we wouldnt offer anything near 180k (more 100k). I assume we want to get rid of Keane first as he is the joint highest earner along with Modric.

 I know i keep name dropping but this would be fantastic! Nilmar, osvaldo, pav, kane. Get the 2 new boys for 35m and like was mentioned around 70k maybe slighlty more. I would be well happy with those 4.:grin::grin:.

Gets confusing in here, but I'm sure we've had quick words about this before !

I'd love Nilmar as he's adaptable, has electric pace, great skill and scores special goals. He can also head a football rather well, all round I think he would like the open fast pace of the PL and thrive in it. Skillful players with slighter builds HAVE still made it in the PL if they are good enough, and I think he is. He could be like a cheap Falcao for us, but he could also play for us wide right in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1. Affordable as well.

Osvaldo has great work rate, decent strength, pace and skill. Again, I think he would thrive in the open and fast PL due to those factors, and could become a big hit, with our supply line and ability to break fast.

Still, I love Llorente and people of that level, price etc, but I think the two above could be very good options that don't bust the bank.

Surely we would be better off trying to buy him? what was reals loan agreement 12m?? That wouldnt be bad buissness.. would it? 12m fee, say 3/4m lump sum to player and 100k per week. Or am i being silly??

I know we say this every week, but I think next week will finally bring some activity...and then it will be last day or two of the window.

Problem is we've got 1 season to get back in the CL or Bale, VDV and Modric are all off next summer and we're back to midtable.

We need players for now.

Granted we don't want to continually rebuild ourselves. That being said, 19-24's are "now" players. Dortmund and Lille just won titles with squads filled with u25's. Adebayor might be proven in the prem, but he is the only one on that list that is. Everybody else is a boom/bust potential just like the one's I listed. And once again, that's from my knowledge base. Our scouting department should be better than me.

This is the thing, though, DP.
I understand exactly what you are saying, and in the normal building process agree totally. But we have some World Class players who, in varying degrees of happiness, are prepared to stay one more year to try to get us CL football again. We all know we need striking upgrade(s), and what we come down to is about prbability. We need someone who is going to hit the ground running and score the goals now to carry us back to the CL this season, not someone who comes good the season after, or we are in serious danger of losing some or all of our World Class players.
And that is where the probability comes in. We all know that it would be better to spend £8 million on someone like Chicarito who hits the ground running and scores the goals. But the younger a player is the more chance what he has shown may be a flash-in-the-pan. The older a player is the more chance, if he is assigned a certain level, that he is the real deal.
And that is the situation we face now. No amount of forward thinking is going to help us. We could go out and spend £5 M a piece on 3 strikers of potential and all three could take at least one season to come good - by which time we are fooked. With a player like, for instance, Adebayor, he will cost more, but we pretty much know he can do the business at the level we are aiming for. And that is why Levy going his merry way, building sedately forthe future, spotting emergin talent at reasonable prices with good sell on value, just ain't gonna cut it this Summer (unless we went down that route and got immensely lucky).

Probably chatted with you about it on a sat evening after a shed load of spiced rum:beer::grin:
