If this is true a little part of my love for Spurs has just died.

I can never support that grade A piece of shit. Never. He can score an injury time winner against Arsenal in the cup final...but he'll still be a vile scumbag.

Eek

Ignore my post. Thought you'd said Barton!

Thought this must be the case...it would be a tad over the top for signing Diarra:grin:

So Diarra...I have my doubts. But he's ours so cool. So why the heck would we then go for Barton. Realize I understand that they don't play the same role. And also realize that he isn't some RW. He will play there if asked. Barton is a versatile CM. Diarra a holding mid essentially, although he can play RB. But with Jenas staying and adding Diarra, then there is no need for Barton. And while he can spell Lennon at times, why not get a speedy young winger who can do that?

Tactically,Barton makes no sense in our squad, now that Diarra allows Sandro to be more than DM and Jenas will do whatever you tell him.

Last week I could see why Barton would help. After News of Diarra done and a Jenas extension, I can't. And I am starting to expect Levy/Harry would in no way be able to keep Barton on track.

But, according to your criteria:shrug:
I think it was Rule No.11 that said get a player with personal issues cheap or free...surely you should be chief advocate of a move for JB.

Quite excited at the prospect of Diarra coming in, might be because we havent signed anyone else though.

I think he will seriously put pressure on Sandro/Modric for a CM position and i wouldn't like to be the man charged with deciding who to play. I do fancy the 4231 idea in bigger games though.

I suppose Akqa/Peanut saying Monday/Tuesday will give an insight into whose info is more accurate here?

Then again i see ben and peanut both saying opposite things and both have good track records.

Slow? We've had ITK that we've actually signed someone! That's positively Usain Bolt speed in comparison to most days this summer!

If Diarra does come then happy days as we be much more solid if they pair him with sandro/hudd in the middle and play modders on the left with bale at left back....def the way to go in big games away from home...wouldnt be so keen at home tho.....any news on a striker??? i liked the look of llorente yesterday- much quicker feet than crouch if we looking to upgrade the crouch/vdv partnership....and he only 26 so thats good- thought he was older than that

also, a cheeky bid for boltons cahill at a lower price? as their players are going down like flies and they have no pennies for replacements? maybe 12 mill and a loan or 2 to them? we do have spare rightbacks

Personally think BAE is better than Bale at LB. Keep Bale where teams fear him.

Start with Modders and Sandro in the middle then bring Diarra on for VDV to protect our two goal lead :D

And I would be chief advocate for selling Modric at the right price.

However, I understand the limitation of movement caused by squad rules. So Barton > Diarra according to those rules. But better than forcing additional moves? I don't think so. And I did mention in my last sentence that I am not sure Harry can help keep him on track. That's the most significant part of "fix" crazy. The would worry me.

Diarra was wanted by Mourinho and fans at Madrid, and the only reason he's leaving is because he wants to play every week as a starter. Im sure he's had assurances from Arry and i think we will play with Diarra AND Sandro when both fit and Luka, vdv and bale in front of them. Lennon would be the one to come on in the second half in case we were losing..
