If we can sign Samba, Diarra and a striker that would mean we've strengthened straight through the spine of the team from Friedel to attack. I think that would make for a great window. We've left it late though so not easy to get all these deals done.

I'm hoping for Diarra this week, Llorente/Adebayor/Rossi the following week, Samba the week after and then maybe a sneaky move for Afellay on deadline day. Wishful thinking though.

:stupid:

I would start Samba and Dawson, i know they lack pace but Rio and Vidic aren't all that fast either? If we had Walker/BAE wed have enough to cover the pace on the counter especially with Diarra/Sandro infront of them.

Sambas presence in the air would be very helpful at set pieces for us.

Diarra was wanted by Mourinho and fans at Madrid, and the only reason he's leaving is because he wants to play every week as a starter. Im sure he's had assurances from Arry and i think we will play with Diarra AND Sandro when both fit and Luka, vdv and bale in front of them. Lennon would be the one to come on in the second half in case we were losing..

I would agree with you there.............if Diarra signs,he will have been given assurances that he plays when fit.
I don't think Harry is stupid enough to drop Sandro when he comes back from injury therefore it looks like he will go 4-2-3-1 this season or possibly a diamond midfield of Sandro-Diarra-Modric -VDV.

Would that signal an intent to get Walker involved and play as a wing back? We would need someone to make up the width otherwise we will be lopsided and Bale will get triple marked for fun.

Unless Harry wants Diarra to play right back, wouldn't surprise me.

I reckon this is very likely. Walker would probably play at RB as well, so we'd still have pace down the right.

Would much rather luka in the middle

He would play in the middle with Diarra and Sandro behind him. Bale on the left, Vdv on the right (but cutting in to the midfield with walker overlapping) and Llorente, rossi, ade.....pav upfront.

:bang:

How can you mention the 3 in front and then talk about Pav in same sentence

I think this is absolutely spot on.

For three positions behind the striker, we'll have Bale, VDV and Modric - first choice...then Lennon and possibly another signing - gfts...as back up.

Diarra and Sandro first choice for the two positions infront of the back four, with Hudd backing up.

there is no way any team, at any level will promise any one they will be playing...it just does'nt happen. you earn your place in a side regardless of formation, if you playing well you start...any thing else and its just b****ks!

Just read from my local news that Neymar will move to RM 20th of December. The clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer fee.

This could mean that one of their current strikers could be available...

Or more likely it means that they just won't take on Adebayor.

not promises, assurances....that you've been signed to come straight into the first team. If you're playing badly for long enough no one can expect to keep getting picked on a regular basis.

Diarra has been bought and will be expecting to be a regular starter, I would be very confident about that.

At least the impending transfer of Diarra suggests we will look to play two athletic players in the centre in Sandro and Diarra and also that we will look to push Modric further up the pitch to influence more in the oppositions third and hopefully get his goals and assists stats up.

It also means we will have a very strong base in which we can build our attacks upon and should also combat what we saw countless times last year of the opposition waltzing through our central midfield at ease.
