The sounds coming from Coates at Stoke this morning is the same frustrating problems that I have been telling you for over a week that Villa are experiencing with Levy. Bids in and bids that have been put together on the advice of agents and previous negotiations. And permission to talk to players. I even think Robbie Keane acknowledged in his interview for Ireland that there are bids on the table for him. ALL the holdup is at Tottenham’s end.

Don't tell me we are genuinely interested in actually signing Klaas Jan-Hunterlaar?!

Seriously, i'd much rather we stick with what we have got if that's the case.

I actually wanted Suarez to join us badly. This guy has some serious skills and very lethal if used correctly, which is not the case at the moment for liverpool

Who was it who called me out for being 'negative' for daring to suggest that if we didn't sign anyone by last weekend that there would be no movement by our first game?

I hope you're busy writing your apology.

In fairness to Levy it's possible that he's reluctant to let people leave until he has confirmed a replacement. Maybe that's where the problem is.

If Diarra signs, I suspect Palacios would be off soon after. If Crouch leaves, it's because we've done the unthinkable and actually signed a new first-team striker.

The hold up is quite clearly agreeing fees. Whilst its frustrating for a lot of us on here, because we want to see outs so we can see ins...its also imperative that we agree what we consider to be fair prices for our players.

Keane himself said that Club are trying to sort out a fee for himself.

Well that's a shock.

My only reservation regarding hunterlaar would be the fact Harry vetoed the option in favor of crouch. Harry can't be totally sold on his form since surely?

I don't think Sunderland would have enough to tempt us to part with Kranjcar so i'd imagine it would be more than likely a loan move.

I agree but I would also be gutted with that. Loaning him to Sunderland - no way IMO.

I want him in the squad and being used relatively frequently.

Doesn't make sense for us as with Pienaar injured and Bentley and Gio likely off, he's our primary cover for Bale, vdV and Lennon.

Villa have no right to moan about other clubs trying to get as much money as possible after they've made about £40million on Young and Downing
