Adebayor loan being finalised today...
still negotiating with RM about Diarra. We are not willing to pay anymore than 15 million for him..He doesn't have a squad number and is not included in Real Madrid's 25 man squad so we are playing the waiting game on this one...

We are interested in Ruiz but as a backup option...He is desperate to come and Harry was impressed when we played FC Twente last season...
Just waiting on a few players to leave now...Gio,Bentley,Hutton the main three.

Still chasing a CB too as Bassong is not sure about staying with us this year, Gallas and King have injury problems.. Harry really wants Cahill but there is alot of interest in him...Samba + Tasci other options...

Also to back up the journalist on this one...There is interest in Farfan...We were close to signing him when he left PSV...And Afellay on loan is also a goer...

The priorities at the moment are very clear: Centre Back, Centre Mid, Centre Forward.

And then a Winger (GFTS) and another Striker would be dependent on outgoing transfers

It all sounds good if only it all came true...:grin:

no 2 CF
no 3 DM
No 4 GFTS
No 5 CB

Would finalising the Ade deal mean it will be officially announced today or do we still expect it to be tomorrow or the weekend?

Given our injury problems in central midfield I think we could be pushing on a bit with Diarra.

Redknapp confirming this now means it will be announced later on today I would imagine.

Although he didn't, Ruiz looks like the kind of striker that can create a chance for himself in a tight spot, something that none of our strikers can do IMO.
Has echo of Berbatov about his play IMO.

In order of who I like to see come in next (assuming Adebayor is done)....

1. Diarra - still a long way from being done it seems.
2. Ruiz - I reckon we could tie this one up pretty quickly (if we're interested)
3. Cahill/Tasci - a deadline day jobby, and dependant on departures.

Would love a new face to start against Utd on Monday.

Horses for courses - and this is exactly what we need. Our strikers didn't fail last season because they are crap, but because they are limited. We faced the problem that all big clubs face, last season - namely that teams sit deep and defend in depth. our strikers are fine in open play; not so fine when the penalty area is congested (which is a pity as Modric, VDV, Lennon and Bale showed, time and again, they had enough invention to get into good positions in the box).
Don't know if Ruiz is what we need, but if he is, I say get him.

Someone asked what the opinion was from the City end re Adebayor, well here you go...

Read on from here..

Seems like their ITK's are confirming it to, which is going down well up there!

We still scare the shit out of them!!!

Do we really think Levy has learnt lessons? He'll get a good price, maybe even a player in exchange and Fans will praise Levy* for getting such a great price!!!

:stupid::beer:

(*if not they will blame Harry)

YES = Lessons learned.
NO = Modric talk in ITK, take it to the Modric thread, please:grin:

I think this message from one of the City fans sums us up perfectly and is why I feel If we get even one striker we will be a really dangerous prospect...

I can't believe anyone who witnessed our games against Spurs last season would allow this deal to go ahead. Yes we took 4 points, but they were totally toothless in the final third and Ade would be perfect for them. If there is any truth to this at all I hope Bobby rewatches the game at the COMS and see's how much they dominated possession and puts a stop to any talk of this nonsense. At WHL Hart had a stormer and if they'd had a better striker they'd have won. Why give them a player than could finish teams off and even subsidise it? It makes no sense. This would be the worst deal we could possibly make. In fact it's too stupid to be believable, so I don't know what I'm getting wound up about.

The one that caught my attention, as well (saves me doing a cut-and-paste). I wish those who are still saying he isn't what we need, and those who think we have no chance of top 4 (or even 5) this season, would right this out 1000 times.

If I read about thomas fucking hitzleberger on here 1 more time I'm gonna fucking kill someone

Not me, Good Pard'Ner...I'm on your side.
