Thanks for that, one question, in harry's interview he acts like he has no clue how far a deal is, is that him keeping quiet or does he know and he also said yesterday he hadn't spoke to adebayor which is quiet strange considering or is he fibbing again

Now, if that ain't an oxymoron, it's certainly a contradiction in terms

VDV,Bale,Diarra,Modric and lennon for nearly the same money Carroll cost.

LOL.

Daniel Levy = All Hail Great Leader
Unless you really wish he would stop trying to get good deals

probably how we all felt at the start of last week X 5

Not me.

Just been announced in Spain that mata has signed for Chelsea after agreeing a fee wwith Chelsea. Could it possibly be the end of the Luka rumours? Hope so.

Would you class them as the same type of midfielder? I'd say even having signed Mata Chelsea would still sign Modric if we gave them the green light

I preferred the good old days before internet and foreign football on TV.

What we signed Jurgen? Was he that blond one at the world cup who kept falling over? Meh!

Now it's hype, hype and super hype.

You should have been around when we signed Ardiles and Villa (maybe you were). We only found out when it made the papers a couple of mornings later or however long it was!

It's quite amazing the number of people who haven't cottoned on to the fact that whilst Harry talks a great deal, he actually says very little of consequence.

Would be hilarious if Abramovich got taken down for his undoubted criminal activities and somehow had to cut his ties to Chelsea. Very much wishful thinking, but I would just explode in smug glee to see these plastics deprived of their sugar daddies!

And if Ade isn't announced soon i'm gonna head to Manc with a lassoo and bring him in Red Dead style.

If we get Adebayor, Diarra and Cahill I expect us to challenge for the title. The squad would be that good and we'd finally have a balanced team.

If we can get Ledley and Gallas to play 50% of games together I'd put money on it.

I completely agree that signing Adebayor, Diarra and Cahill would greatly improve our squad but I think any talk of title challenges are a tad premature, ecspecially as we haven't signed anyone yet. We have to rememeber others around us have significantly improved as well (well except for Arsenal ) If we do make improvements in certain areas I am sure we will give a good perfromance of ourselves and stand a decent chance of breaking back into the top four but I think we are away of title challengers if I am being realistic

More than happy to be proven wrong though!

Born in 78, so no can't remember. Dad still remembers Greeves signing Eek.

Don't think we'll get an announcement tonight, probably not till Monday now (why do we always let ourselves get excited?). But in every bag of shite there's always a sparkle of gold.

To be fair if we did get those 3 we have a chance. IF we get them and IF they settle.

I don't think we as far away as people think. Last season the margins were very fine indeed and had we been able to score the goals that our dominance deserved we could have had perhaps 15 more points, how far would that be from the title?

Our current squad of players, unlike us long suffering fans, believe in themselves. We lose to Man U away because we just aren't good enough, not because of some mystical bad luck omen or a lack of belief.

Last season won at Highbury and Anfield for the first time in years, why? Because we believed? Were lucky? No, it was because we were as good or slightly better than those 2 teams and were able to perform on the day.

Currently I would say that we are 2 strikers, a defensive mid and a bit of tactical flexibility away from being as good as any team in our league. Diarra, Ade and one other would put us on a par with the mancs etc and therefore would give us a chance of winning the league.

And we regularly broke transfer records for the likes of Greaves, England, Chivers & Peters.
Bill also made some canny cheaper signings like Pat Jennings and Gilly.

We never knew about any of these until it was all done. Far less stressful for the fans.
