I don't think we as far away as people think. Last season the margins were very fine indeed and had we been able to score the goals that our dominance deserved we could have had perhaps 15 more points, how far would that be from the title?

Our current squad of players, unlike us long suffering fans, believe in themselves. We lose to Man U away because we just aren't good enough, not because of some mystical bad luck omen or a lack of belief.

Last season won at Highbury and Anfield for the first time in years, why? Because we believed? Were lucky? No, it was because we were as good or slightly better than those 2 teams and were able to perform on the day.

Currently I would say that we are 2 strikers, a defensive mid and a bit of tactical flexibility away from being as good as any team in our league. Diarra, Ade and one other would put us on a par with the mancs etc and therefore would give us a chance of winning the league.

I don't think you've got the Spurs tints on either. If Defoe and Crouch had scored just half the number of goals they managed te previous season we could easily have been on a par with Chelsea and City.

But this is probably OT!

:hump:

This is exactly why the thought of Adebayor signing excites me so much. Last year we created so many chances that we failed to finish. If any of our strikers had a 20+ season I fully believe we would be in the CL again this season.

I think with our current players and set-up Adebayor would fit in perfectly and can see him scoring 20+ and really making the difference to us. I think he would have put some of the lesser sides to the sword as well an area which IMO really cost us last year.

Going on the them that we are three class players away from being a team capable of pushing for big times, that holds a resonance from somewhere...

Teams can set up to counter the threat from Bale in various ways and because our strikers are so one-dimensional they know that if they keep Bale and Lennon quiet and/or defend our strikers well, we don't have much else. What teams will struggle to do is to defend the flanks AND the threat down the middle that Adebayor/another would offer us.

Think CorlukaModric mentioned something about a bid/enquiry being made about him within the last few days.

Why the fuck do we need Cahill? Who's going to sit on the bench like bassong without moaning?

Adebayor would be absolutely mint. I can remember that season he had with arsenal where he was scoring headers for fun left, right and center. Take into account his excellent ability on the deck and we'd have one hell of a striker with the service he is going to get from lennon, bale and VDV.

He'll get close to the top scorer in the league, and easily above 15 in the EPL for spurs this season if he signs. Potentially mouthwatering stuff.

Because our defense simply isn't good enough! Not saying Cahill is the answer, but we certainly need to strengthen that position assuming Ledley won't get many games

You forgot the two kids we signed...oh wait that doesn't help does it?

I think our patience will pay off come the next few days, the media train has started to really pick up on Lass and Ade, we have had really strong ITK on the matter. Its going to happen just a case of when IMO.

Why do you care who moans? If we improve the team thats the main thing. I think Cahill would start for us. Better footballer than Dawson, though not as 'die hard'. Think Cahill and Kaboul would be similar, but an excellent trio in Cahill, Dawson and Kaboul. Gallas has 1 year max, King maybe only a game before his next long term injury and BAssong is ok back up, but wants to go. Cahill would be excellent for us.

You guess what? That if you toss words up into the air there's a chance they'll come down as a structured English sentence?
