Surprise striker signing :

Source: Official Site

Souleymane Coulibaly can't wait to step out at White Hart Lane for the first time when we take on Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the NextGen Series on Wednesday night.

The young striker from the Ivory Coast registered with us earlier this month having previously been on trial.

He's made quite an impression in the all-new NextGen Series, a miniature European competition for Under-19s introduced this season.

Souleymane scored three goals in our six group matches as we topped Group Four from Inter Milan, PSV and FC Basel.

Now the big stage awaits Tim Sherwood's young squad as we take on the Reds in the last eight.

"I've loved playing in the NextGen Series," said Souley, who shot to prominance by winning the Golden Boot at the Under-17s World Cup last summer with nine goals in four matches, including a hat-trick against Brazil.

"We now have a very big game against Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

"This is very important for me and I don't sleep easily with it on my mind all the time! It means absolutely everything to me.

"Tottenham have given me the chance to be in this position and I'm determined to help us win the game."

Souley has also scored in the third and fourth rounds of the FA Youth Cup at Stevenage and Cardiff City respectively.

"I would love to bring a trophy to the club, the NextGen or the FA Youth Cup, and I believe we have the capability to do that."

Souley was also recently named 'Most Promising Talent' at the CAF annual awards.

Maybe he will be put on the OS now !

Saha wouldn't be that bad, he was decent at Fulham and Man Utd, but then all strikers turn shit and stop scoring at Everton. Look what happened to Yakubu as soon as he left...

If we are loaning Saha. Doesnt that mean we have purchased Adebeyor? as we can only loan one premier league team player? or am i wrong?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:Saha

Not the most inspiring signing granted, but if he can stay fit he does provide the cover for Ade that we have been needing. He wont play much anyway (hopefully) and its less of a risk than just keeping our fingers crossed that Ade stays fit for the rest of the season. That really is no plan at all.

I can't believe there are people moaning about Saha, when the alternative is keeping Pav. Good move I think. Pav out today, Saha in as backup for the rest of the season - a big signing in the summer (hopefully Leandro). Sorted!

My Toffee mates say his legs are gone and he is not the same player that they had even last year. Main reason he does not start this season for them. Moyes is no fool and Saha was Evertons best stiker last year but does not play him this season there is a good reason.

You're allowed two loans at the same time per season, max 4 loans per season, max one loan from one team per season at same time.

Could we not sign someone who's not always injured? Even if its on loan there must be other options....Saha is decent but he's gonna get injured we all know it.

Or on the other side of the fence:

Pav out today, Ade back to City in the summer, Saha back to Everton in the summer, leaving us with just Defoe. Fucked!

maybe the reason he isnt playing him is that he has some financial clause in his contract (either to Man U or the player himself) for when he reaches 100 PL appearances for Everton - they are famously skint, so it may not be a quality thing, it may be a financial thing
