Archibald on SO in response to - can't understand why is everyone so down on Saha

me neither.. proven prem player, can fit into our system.. if we sell pav we get money earlier than summer so value doesnt drop and can spend in summer once saha returns to everton!

Sounds like a loan

saha is crap rather have pav, dont want another anderton, or crap player taking wages that could be spent better else where

My god it's uglier than Kerry Katona in here today, and she looks like she was put together in a trolley dash in a Mr Potato Head factory.

FWIW, I think Saha would be a good signing for the rest of the season. He knows the league, can play up top on his own and has the experience of playing for a big team and how to win games.

I have to say, I have come around a bit to loaning Saha, it would provide cover to Ade and Defoe, plus maybe Harry can get something out of him.

What I would be worried about, is if we sold Pav as well, we would be left with just one striker. Maybe, MAYBE we will announce we have reached an agreement for Leandro much like we did with Sandro to join up with us in the summer?

This day has been as long as I suggested:cry:

Hmmm.

[Some/All] [might/definitely] say that Pav is that player.

I've left choices. With sarcasm. Lots and lots of sarcasm.

Simply put, who would you rather bring off the bench or to lead the line in Ade's absence - Saha or Pavlyuchenko?

My preference would be Saha, therefore it's an upgrade, albeit not a huge one.

Hoilett is the best i'm hoping for now. It would make sense if we can't get Krasic.

and i would still rather have Defoe as a target man over both

honestly, I am certain aa lot of clubs in russia will be more then happy to have Pav, its a question of if they can afford him

I'm sure they would, as would many clubs elsewhere in Europe, it's Levy's defiance to take much of a loss on him that puts them all off. Not that i'm saying that's wrong, well it sort of is, but that's what puts them off.

My problem with this, and one of the main problems in signing Saha, is that he has been plagued with injuries the last couple of seasons - what happends when we look to the bench and there's no one there cause Saha is off injured.

everyone was happy with the squad before, so why now when all we might be doing is swapping pav for saha is everyone reaching for the razors.

don't think man u fans are like this and we have a better squad than them, liverpool have done nothing, chelski have only got cahill and city have a injury hit pizzaro coming in on loan almost like we have.

sit back have a  and relax in the knowledge that for a change all our stars we already have here are happy and going nowhere

Reports on Goal that PSG are on the verge of signing Leandro for €30million. That would be a devastating end to deadline day.

We could have kept Kane as a backup striker instead of buying a old workhorse.

How is he doing at Millwall btw?
