Pretty much, he gets forward when the rest of the team do, but it's not like we see him popping up in the box regularly, the majority of his work is done in the middle third of the pitch.

I don't know. Carrick and Berbatov never really replicated their form for us again in the league. So if a player is just going to move on to become a disappointment, anybody's millions will do.

You've just described a midfield player. A deep lying midfield player would be one that sits in front of the back 4 and does little else. Modric pops up all over the place

I don't know. Carrick and Berbatov never really replicated their form for us again in the league. So if a player is just going to move on to become a disappointment, anybody's millions will do.
Modric will work in that United side, he'll be a much bigger success than those two, albeit Carrick has just had a decent season and Berbatov doesn't fit into Fergie's ideology (begs the question why the spent 30 million on him)
Personally I would much prefer he went abroad.
