I think it's actually good news, because maybe he really wants the job and said that so Levy will give it to him?

Sort of like when vertonghen said arsenal is still a possibility (when we all know it wasnt)

Some of you lot are trippin if you think Porto will sell us Moutinho for sensible money. Make nous take about it they will demand way in excess of £20m for him!!!

Not like we are going to sell Modric for sensible money either is it? :D

I can only assume that

A) the journo is anti us
B) bored
C) Not at the euros
D) is a graduate whose bored whose not at the euros and has an agenda

He's based in Manchester and does lots of the reporting up there. Don't know why he's writing on this really, wouldn't have thought he has many contacts down here.

He's a friend of a friend. Can't see why he'd be anti spurs at all. Never got that impression.

You're probably right. However Levy could've prevented this sort of journalistic mischief making by securing Harry's replacement before sacking Harry, no?

in terms of my readership of the Guardian, I'd say they're probably the least biased football-wise of any daily. This makes me a very very sad panda - not least 'cos I thought the wait might be over.

I really don't see how AVB is going to do better than Redknapp. Just cannot see it and desperately hope he is not our man.

You haven't, no, but by confirming that we are interested in Moutinho I took it that you were insinuating that AVB is indeed going to be our new manager...
Are we suggesting that only former managers can buy Moutinho?

were getting vertonghen so I better back Frank De Boer

True, but don't think its beyond the bounds or realism either, given that Modric was likely to be discussed - and that AVB could have of been a serious advocate for Moutinho

he was a player that was looked at when Harry was here. I'd imagine its the scouts that have agreed that he could be good for us

Having Redknapp in charge I thought that was the case.

But no, of course not, it's just a big coincidence that the link with Moutinho surfaces when we are reportedly about to tie up his old manager.

off topic but met lennon in vegas a few days ago and he said he had no idea who was taking over! Was pretty sound guy tho, was getting moved away from his table in tryst by bouncers, he came over and had a photo with me. Mates saw him in rehab too.
