What was the question?

Mentioned a rumour from the twatter thread, so i'm guessing it was either deleted by mods as I posted the question in the wrong thread or JJ requested to delete it?

If it's the first then I apologise mods!

Re strikers, a follow up question for JJ is are the chances of Remy or De Jong slim because they do not want to come or because an injection of funds means we can look at better and more expensive alternatives. The former would be a bit concerning, the latter great news

If sturridge would preffer to come to us (as JJ said earlier) & Does not get on with AVB (as JJ said a few minutes ago). That suggest to me that its not AVB?????

Lots of data on that - although to be fair he did bring Walker and Livermore into the squad this season and played kids in Europa League (but that was to ensure as few a number of first team played in Europa as possible) - but according to a fair few West Ham fans their Academy Head, Carr, brought through most of the youth and I am told by more than one source Defoe actually only played 16 minutes for HR at Wham !

That would be right. Defoe came back from his loan spell with Bournemouth towards the end of the 2000-01 season, made one appearance, presumably as a sub, and then Harry was, er, indiscreet with those fanzine reporters and got the push.

Strange comment to make about kids in the Europa League. Where else were they going to play?

I'm just a little dubious about this ITK. Bostock may have been a pain in the arse, but it was widely known he'd got God when he signed, so that immediately puts me on my guard. Does Levy really want the manager to oversee the Academy as well as the First Team Squad? That's a heck of a workload, and there's a huge difference between keeping tabs on the kids and liaising with whoever's in charge and running the show. That really doesn't ring true, and I'd be very concerned if it turns out to be the case.

Re Europa League - just trying to present a balanced view of HR's efforts with kids

Re Top to bottom management - Do not think Levy suggesting manager manages all the kids, just to take more notice of them so knows when they are ready for first team (rumours that HR ignored this).

Importantly the club knows who the next manager is... frustrating for us to not know by now, but to me (and to be honest i didn't doubt it), it means things are happening nice and quietly in the background.

There is so much that say its AVB that you would be a fool not to believe it, but i still don't... colour me crazy if you like.

Glad to hear the Vertonghen stuff is old news and I now do believe the hold up is just for reasons of a reveal with new manager and maybe kit as well.

What was AVB's track record here at Porto, isn't this something Pep was given great credit for at Barcelona?

That's what I hope it means, but it's not really what it says.

He wants a manager who will run things from top to bottom and not just concentrate on the first team.

Let's hope it's just ambiguous wording.

Agreed - there will be 30 in the Academy next year plus about 30 Professionals plus about 25 First Team players (plus maybe 100 below 16) so it cannot mean day to day management of close to 200 people, it must mean spend (lets say 25%) of the manager's time on non first team players.

So would JJ saying that AVB and Sturridge don't get on after stating that he thought Sturridge would more likely go to Liverpool indicate that AVB will be our new boss? Although he did say he thought Sturridge would rather come to us, so would that indicate that AVB isn't going to be our new boss?. Fucked if I know. I'm too old for this shit.

Take the Q & A session with JJ's earlier post that Sturridge might prefer Liverpool.

Likeliehood is that manager is AVB ===> Sturridge to Liverpool

sumbitch!

Why are you censoring me Jedi. This is like the time publishing houses censored me by not publishing my book Kuru, Shmuru.....How to prepare Human Flesh for Consumption in the 21st Century by calling it "creepy", "disturbing" and "we have contacted the FBIey" and I will not be censored!

Good catch JM. It's too bad though :(

It does seem odd that De Jong or Remy aren't really targets any longer.

I do wonder where we will look for a striker now.

No matter how big of a 'warchest' the new manager is given it won't change the fact we can't pay big wages so I doubt we'll be targeting top stars.

The question is, how would JJ know that AVB and Sturridge don't get on? Maybe because AVB is indeed the man...

Contrarily, the comment that he made suggesting Sturridge himself would prefer a move to Spurs would suggest it's not going to be AVB, if indeed they don't get on.

In summary, it's either AVB, or it's not.
