I was a fan and I felt disappointed when Brad got the nod ahead of Gomes but the he made a big difference. I was no longer terrified whenever a cross or corner came in. Gome is definitely error prone. I'd be delighted if AVB could turn his career around and get him back as our #1, but to me a successful team has to start from the GK position and we need to be solid....I'm not sure if Gomes is that man.

Why were people surprised about Gomes being dodgy on crosses etc? He looked a fucking liability a couple of yrs before we signed him when we played PSV.
Shame really. He has all of the physical attributes to be one of the very best keepers around. But he isn't. Not even close.

I hope that is true, that would effectively meet the supposed £100m shortfall in the costs of building the new stadium

I disagree with him often, it's my opinion that he talks a load of auld crap.
I think a year of Friedel not coming for any crosses, made people long for the days when Gomes would go for all of them even if fluffed a few.
