Right but at least that's £100m the club don't have to find from existing resources in the meantime. See?

We had £20m in the bank in the accounts to 30th June 2011. PLus £18m owwing to us which i would imagine mainly relates to players. Add to that the sales we made in the last couple of transfer windows and the fact that we have brought sod all players.
So there is a bit of cash about. not stupid amounts though. Any investment will decrease what we have to borrow for the stadium, but if its £100m investment for arguments sake I am not sure that will increase the transfer kitty. It will just mean less to borrow for the stadium

Just a thought...

I realise all ITK and press and whispers point towards AVB or whoever being unveiled this week, but if he/whoever isn't appointed in time, who would take pre-season training...? Do we have any coaches left???

Coaches? Who needs them, they'll just continue 'facking running about a bit.'

Sorry, I know its the Daily Mail, and an old article, but I wanted to point out one thing in particular in relation to internacional...

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy recently wrapped up a deal with the South American club to have first option on the next generation of Brazilian superstars

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...edknapp-targets-steely-Brazil-midfielder.html

Are they a feeder club of ours? And does Oscar count as one of their 'acadamy players'?

I can see this being a viable option. And if the 25m does turn out to be $, then £16m seems pretty good value considering we've got just under that for the sale of Corluka & Kranjcar.

Modric money would almost get us Ade, Verts and Sig.

Thoughts?

Really? You really don't undestand?

OK, well if we are given the money, we do not need to borrow the money. Banks and financial institutions like to charge something called "interest" when you borrow money. You may have read something about it recently, it's been in the news.

But the ITK's have been constantly banging on about monumental developments that are going to rock our world. The board not having to borrow 100m of the 400m development (of which a believe they are still looking for 200m) in exchange for a name above the door is hardly going to do that is it ? It's not going to turn us into free spending wage blowing lunatics all of a sudden is it ? It's just going to leave us with another 100m to find to build the stadium and the same relatively meagre profit margins we always had without CL football and be operating day to day with similar constraints.

Bobbins, on several occasions, JJ has responded to questions I've asked. Most recently he confirmed to me on here, when asked, that Martinez wouldn't be our next manager. I didn't pester him, I asked him one simple, pretty valid, question, that might have saved us all some hassle.

Yeah ok, I've seen him respond to you, but at the time (after 11 pages of crap and shouting for him) I felt it was a bit beneath your usual standard. Anyhoo I didn't actually neg it because I know you have been able to ask him directly successfully in the past, was just getting a bit frustrated.

Right. I'm not even sure why this is being linked to what we send on transfers etc? It's £100m coming into the club which will be used for the stadium. It doesn't affect, to any significant degree, what we can or can't spend on fees/wages as far as I can tell?

Really excited about Oscar. Is the 25M just a bid in that hasnt been accepted yet or is it agreed and ready to take place? Couldn't tell from the ITK.

I think that's you being sucked in by the hysteria of ITK more than anything BC. If we get a new manager, 2 new players and a 100m investment that, to me, is pretty big news.

I reckon we're on the final countdown now, hours rather than days. I'm betting 1/5th of a testicle that AVB is appointed anytime between now and lunchtime tomorrow.

Not directly. But more money from naming rights = less money borrowed from the bank = less interest, lower repayments, lower liabilities = more money to spend on wages.

And IMO the wages are more of an obsticle when signing a player that the transfer fee. Particularly in a club run like ours.

Am I reading the ITK wrong? We were expecting well in excess of 100m but it is even higher than that? That could mean 400,500m why is everyone saying it's 100m?

We were expecting in excess of £100m. We are going to get a great deal more than that if this is kosher.

No, you're not.
