Hulk does have 36 and 21 goals in the last 2 seasons, while Moses has.. er... 2 and 6. Oh.

Not exactly a straight comparison though is it? One is playing at the best team in a very poor league and the other is playing at one of the worst teams in a very strong league. I'm not saying Moses is as good as Hulk, more that he's the sort of player that AVB has used previously. And comparing them in terms of goals for their current clubs is much too simplistic.

Well, it's easy to see why Hulk is mentioned with the sorts of fees he is but it's not too obvious why Moses is a £10m/£50k a week player. That's my point.

If you look back at the posts, someone mentions Moses and then someone else mentions Hulk at Porto. That's why I compare.

I'd be shocked if Moses was on the list, AVB needs intelligent players to fit his system, Moses isn't that. He's more of a powerhouse.

That's kind of how Hulk plays, and he worked out fine in AVB's system. Could be a cheaper, home grown, alternative. Would obviously still need to develop, but definitely a chance that is the thought process.

Yeah that was me and I understand why you're comparing them. My point was that I could probably have scored 10+ goals in that Porto team for the last couple of seasons, and I'm not sure Hulk would get more than 6 if he was playing for Wigan. Comparing goal records when they clubs they play for are at such different levels is a dangerous game. It's like saying Spurs should sign Rickie Lambert instead of Adebayor just because he scored more goals.

you'd be surprised, i've seen people suggesting players like Lambert.

Moses did also set some kind of record, 50 shots without scoring. I'll find it.

Edit: 43 shots.. then scored 6 from his next 51 shots. Prospect, squad filler, but I am not convinced he's worth the fee Wigan would want.

He is in the last year of his contract so they can't be too stubborn. I think competing with other teams though is likely to push his price up. Perhaps we can offer them Kane and Townsend on loan for a season which would fill their Moses void.

Victor Moses has 1 more year left on his contract. Press say that Chelsea offered £4m, but Wigan turned it down. Gooners are interested too. Don't think he would go for anything like £12m that is being bandied about tbh. Reckon £6.5 - £8m would secure him.
