I thought Lyon needed to sell due to financial problems. But seems like they're still not will to negotiate the price.

Exactly.

he make it sound like they desperately try fight off suitors, when Lyon are the ones needing to sell.

Well i've missed a fun day haven't I ?
I can't believe I have read so much about the relative qualities of Huntelaar, a player who has not even remotely been ITked AT ALL.
And great that after the tragic news of us failing to secure the signing of an unknown player we are now in for a 'take your pick' on the Brazilian Olympic squad!
Anyway, some poetry, bit-a-culcha for ya:

Mystery Hotel Visit
Is it Hulk?
Is it Ganso?
Is it Bulk?
Is it Panso?
Perhaps Pato?
Or Moura?
You Twatto!
It's Zamora!

Oh man, i was so optimistic for Moutinho + Lloris before. :(

Its starting to look like the typical Spurs transfer window again. Now Mouts could go till end august, Lloris 99% staying at Lyon, a lot of talk of a world class forward which we know wont sign and even Adebayor looks doubtful.

I knew this would happen. Loads of talk about big names arriving to finally fill the holes in our team and push us on, but here we are with pretty much the same old story, once again.

Let's be honest, we simply can't compete with the top clubs in our league for the in-demand players. Our rivals. I can't believe I briefly deluded myself that we could! :(

And before people say 'we are not Man City' and 'this is not Football Manager', I am not disputing this. It's just that the reality of the situation has now set home. We are not going to buy any big names, because the truth is we cannot afford them. This happens every bloody summer, and every summer I neglect to use enough salt with my daily dose, until about this time when the realism sets home!

And do you know what? That's fine. But the early window bubble has now burst, so I'm not going to delude myself with names like Falcao, Moutinho, Oscar etc. No one should, because we cannot afford them, and the only way we are going to get anywhere near one of those players is by selling Luka Modric, our best player. Which, even if we are collectively choosing to believe otherwise, will most likely set us back big-time in midfield next season.

The only way this is ever going to change is if that investment story is true and the club is trying to put out the message that we've got no money.

It's just starting to feel like the Luis Fabiano summer all over again though. The window is only going to be different to the last six if Joe Billionaire rolls into town.

Things are started to seem more like regular transfer windows. No hope in sight but lots of names being linked. Heard spurs being linked to Ronaldinho and made me think that AVB must have been crouching and peeking at Recaro's transfer targets.

Might be right, cant say i followed their transfer action much. But atleast they tried off load him to highest bidder these last 2 weeks, but off course things can always change.

With all this talk of 'too expensive' I'm assuming there's no mystery Middle Eastern investment anymore?

He will be sold. At the end of the interview Aulas said "I'm happy even if we have financial constraints". They still have to sell.

The original deadline was 15th and now Lloris has been given an extra week. He's trying to force Levy's hand.

The fact that we are still "negotiating" with Shitty over Adebayor proves that there is no investment, whether from Middle east or from the money Levy kept hidden from Arry.

Wise words my friend. I wish Lewis would put his hand in his pocket this summer, even if it's just for this summer. Just enough investment to bump up our transfer fee offers slightly. For Example:

Lyon want £17 miilion for Llloris, we're touted as attempting a £12 million offer...Joe puts in the extra £5m. Transfer Secured.
Porto want £22 milllion for Moutinho, we offer £16 million...Joe puts in the extra £6m. Transfer Secured.

And so on...........

Just enough investment to secure these important targets, and it's hardly going to blow a hole in his £2.5 billion fortune.

well it would make perfect sense to me to only announce money or investments into club once our transfers and main business is done in summer otherwise we will get bum fucked left right and center.
