It is partly AVB's fault as he must understand how our club works under Daniel Levy.
He has to understand if Moutihno's not possible that there is a perfectly good replacement across town who might be achievable in the form of Moussa Dembele.
To quote Jagger "You can't always get what you want, but if you try real hard you just might get what you need."

I would be happy with Dembele - one of the most skillful players I have seen and is so good to watch. Rides a challenge like Jenna Jameson riding a dick but if AVB was told you have 20m plus around 35m from the Modric deal to spend then it is up to AVB to decide how to spend it. Ok I wouldnt want Levy to spend 30m on Saha but AVB said so but I would expect Levy to back AVB properly.

Apart from the '2 paraded at yesterday's game' has hertyid got a reasonable track record? If we all know who they are it must be moutinho, leandro and willian. Now that would be an awesome window, can't see us completing all of those though, in fact we would be doing well to get one of them and a couple of cheaper alternatives. If daws does go for decent money, maybe that is the extra injection of cash needed to complete the deals. I also wonder if Avb has sacrificed Lloris to add to the moutinho fund.

DL may buy the players but he doesn't pick the team. Spending money on a player AVB doesn't want is not going to end well imo, no matter who the player is.

I'm curious as to what Plan A was. Hopefully it was just some pipedream that we all knew really wouldn't happen like Llorente.

Chances are it was Damiao, but I think most of us have really moved on from that as we just feel like the guy that's being strung along by the girl we know we will never land.

Plan A was buying quality players at discount prices

So AVB will be back backed....with the additions Levy wants ultimately?

That just doesn't seem conducive to a long term successful plan/set up o_O

I understand its far from simple, AVB likes a player, AVB gets that player etc but those latest tweets don't sound good.

Personally I would love Dembele, but I would rather the manager was getting in the players he wanted. If they're not feasible, then they have to come to realistic compromises.

Would be interesting to know if AVB would accept Dembele as a second choice etc, or he flat out just doesn't want him.

I mean, in all honesty, Dembele has to be aware of this if that's the case.

After his performance this past weekend, I have a hard time imagining him being short on offers. If he doesn't feel satisfied that AVB wants him, he can simply say no to a move to Tottenham, and I'm sure others will line up.

So plan b is Levy's own personal list of bargain players/ players with good sell on potential/ players that look good on motd and YouTube

Not a good sign if levy is picking the players, although he did great with Sandro.

What would players coming in think if they knew that i wasnt AVB that wanted them but DL. Would they even sign on the dotted line? Dembele wouldnt sign - he would ask what happens if I sign? will I play? how do I do? etc etc etc

is "unofficial DOF" a reference to Levy himself, or to Freund?

sorry if I'm being an imbecile.

Plan A = AVB list.

Plan B = Levy bargain basement fun at the end of the window.

That seems to be it in a nutshell.

He was in for Charlie Adam as well...
