Hertyid on COYS:

Jerk chicken with a mate.
Three in. Two midfield. One up top. That's it though.
You all know the three.
Week to go. DL knows it's time to back his club. So he says.
Good luck all. Happy bank holiday.
Coys.

If we all know the three I assume he means Moutinho, Willian, Leandro are the three, though JJetset's indicated Leandro and Moutinho are both unlikely...

Also I'd be shocked if we go into the season preparing to rely on Cudicini and Friedel. Maybe AVB is planning to start Gomes but he's just been injured?

I'll be very happy if those three come in.

I doubt it very much though.

If putting a bid in, is "playing silly buggers". Then we are guilty as charged.
But I dont think that is "playing silly buggers". What does fit the "playing silly buggers" description is people not coping with inevitable failure that comes with bidding.

People must learn to deal with disappointment, as it comes with the territory of being privy to negotiations when you hear the better ITK's.
No playing silly buggers is putting a bid in that is no where near the asking price to then just not go back with an improved bid or if we do its still nowhere near the asking price...its been said we cannot bully these top teams they hold the aces not us...so we know we are not willing to bid the full price the team with the player don't need to sell to us...get the hint move on.

Apart from a keeper if we have to sign 3 players it must be Ade back up, a creative midfielder and an attacking midfielder/winger.

If we only get 2 it must be Ade back up and creative midfielder.

I think almost without doubt we'll get 2 - of what quality I don't know.

My worry is not getting Ade back up because LD will sign in January - I don't want Defoe as cover, not even for the ball boys...

My dream 3 would be Willian, Isco and Damiao, but as Damiao is unlikely I'd settle for that guy that plays for Saint Etienne who's name I can't spell.

Ah yes. Hertyid was the one who was harping on about us having two new signings paraded yesterday.

I think I'll file his 'ITK' under B for 'bullshit'.

Sadly, it's just 5 more days of this.

I don't know what i'll do with my life after. Guess i'll finally have to find out if my wife still lives here and maybe, just maybe have a wash and a square meal.
It's like being Nicole Kidman in The Others. You keep seeing vaguely familar people out of the corner of your eye, but every time you look up, there's no one there... cos they fucked off to bed like normal people several hours ago.

i see it as willian or isco, neither of them can replace modric. we need moutinho or dembele first and foremost.

It's come to the point where hearing that Levy knows he has to 'back his club' really doesn't fill me with extra confidence. I'm just hoping we're still going to make a statement with a few signings but I've been hoping that for quite some time now.

I've been saying this for a while now. Until/Unless Levy backs AVB in the transfer market things could get very sour very very quickly and if it does, it's hasta la vista Danny boy. I simply cannot believe Levy will take such a huge gamble, he must know where fingers will point, so i'm wagering three and a half of my testicles that it'll all turn out (reasonably) well.

Let's hope so. It probably won't turn out that way though. AVB will be blamed for having to play Jenas and/or Livermore, when he really has no alternative, and Levy will continue to be seen by many as the innocent party.

Like I've said before...I'm a fan of Levy, but he's far from perfect. If we don't replace Modric that's definitely not AVB's fault, and I hope the Spurs faithful understand that.

Doesn't sound too overwhelmed?
I'd be well happy if we signed a forward and two midfielders from a list of er... Willian, Moutinho, M'Vila, Dembele, P.E.A. or Damaio [anyone else a 'maybe' ?]
Hoping! Bit cynical about this one, but we'll see.

It is partly AVB's fault as he must understand how our club works under Daniel Levy.
He has to understand if Moutihno's not possible that there is a perfectly good replacement across town who might be achievable in the form of Moussa Dembele.
To quote Jagger "You can't always get what you want, but if you try real hard you just might get what you need."

I have said this all along that it is Levy and not the Manager. What I would expect though are those people who fuckin harped on about it being Harrys fault for not signing players and signing has beens to come out of the wood work and argue hat point. Harry in actual fact signed has beens and loan signings because - Levy

You forgot the next line which is "...and failing that you get Rasiak"

If you're going to quote the Stones, you'd better get it correct :D

Fair point though. I'd hope Levy and AVb would have discussed our financial limitations at length at some point.
