Do you think Graham being reunited with Siggi might be beneficial to our Icelander?

Damiao is both AVB & Levy's first choice of the 'attainable' strikers. Expect #THFC will wait until the summer & look for a stop-gap now

Damiao is never going to go away is it. In summer, 'January is the perfect time to sign him' and in January 'we will wait until summer'.

"The Celtic lad for me"...........Hooper! these names are a burden.

Hooper will have resale value 'if' it does not work out and Levy and myself if I was in shoes may see it as a calculated risk.

Negredo is not worth the risk IMHO....

Levy is right to keep the wheelbarrow in the shed till summer IMHO
Honestly, a shame the likes of De Jong and Van Wolfswinkel are seemingly happily ensconsed elsewhere. Young, good finishers and wouldn't cost a bomb. We seem stuck in a cycle of trying to bag an uber-striker or going for last minute punts. There seems to be no real forward planning in this regard. We're reactive, imo and I blame our 'scouting network' which must be incredibly shit.

I'd rather Graham over Hooper - proven in the PL. I'm actually very surprised Swansea would let him go.

FFS. I wonder what will happen in the summer then. Oh wait, exactly the same thing again and we'll still be short of a top-tier striker next season (unless Ade gets his finger out).

I agree, especially about the "über" striker or stop gap. It's odd how we have ended up like this.

How many windows are we going to wait for Damiao? In the summer it will be "THFC will wait until January when the Brazilian season is over". Then it will be "THFC will wait until the summer once Internacional have completed their copa de libatores campaign". Getting very bored of this.

Never has the signing of a £20m striker been so closely matched to me doing the dishes.

hahaha, we're way beyond desperate mate, we passed that about a week ago (y)

But still. Coming into his late 20's, not going to improve and will probably cost upwards of this £5.5m fee we keep seeing in the media. In any circumstance its no thanks. I'd rather get Sir Les out of retirement.

If we are scrabbling around desperately for someone then take a punt on a young player eg. Vydra.

once he turns 50 the repayment plan (probably brokered by michael parkinson) may be affordable. if he doesn't come now or is pre-contract for the summer, just walk away. ;)

I think we should be all over this. Another 2 over the weekend. Whether the owners would let him go is another thing.

Our scouting is fine - We just dont pay Chelsea type monies, it is that strait forward.

The market values will start to shrink over the next few years for 'our' price range targets.

Possibly. That would need both of them starting though. Not sure how often that would happen. Sigs as the actual AM behind the target man works. TBH, I wonder if Sigs is even here next season. Not sure he'll fit into an AVB team, unless we sorta go 4-2-3-1 and even then he'd be a squad payer at best. We're not the ideal team for him really.

Be the same old story in the summer, won't want to leave mid season but he will decide again at the end of the season

January 2014: and we will look to get him in the summer.

I hope Chelsea or some italian club signs him already so we can all move on

Until he retires, this will live with us. I'm sure of it. The bastard will probably go into management and then we'll be linked with him in that regard. We've got decades of this shit to put up with.
